Marc already announced he's not playing.
There are 9 sure bets

Rodriguez - Llull - Ribas - Rudy - Abrines - Mirotic - Reyes - Pau - Hernangomez

My bet for the remaining spots are Claver, Diez and Vives.
BTW Ribas is more of a SG and Rudy and Abrines can play at either wing spots.
If you want to try to measure the elements of basketball that are supposedly unmeasurable, spend a game just watching Marc Gasol.

No Kleiza as well.

PF position is the weakest with 3 important players OUT. D. Lavrinovic, Kleiza, Motiejunas. Only one true PF on that list, Jankunas.
It is too early for Sabonis and Gudaitis to make this team.

Omer Asik and Enes Kanter wont play for Turkey this year, bad news could have been a nice offensive and defensive combo.

Today is a 1st warm up game for Lithuania vs Australia. Only 8 days after camp started and Australia is 2-3 weeks ahead.

Valanciunas is not there yet and they are not playing Javtokas, Maciulis and Seibutis today.

What a bomb! This can't be real?

Anyway, 2 interesting games between European and Oceania powerhouses today.

Lithuania vs Australia

Croatia vs New Zealand.

Yeah, that was my first comment as well, but as you can see, it's damn real and a damn shame!

I don't think Croatia vs New Zealand will be interesting cause Croatia plays with it's 3rd team. No Hezonja, Rudez, Bogdanovic, Tomic, Saric, Simon, Ukic etc. This game will serve to Perasovic only for cutting some players off the roster.

LOL@ " in which NBA stars Matthew Dellavedova and Cameron Bairstow were rested."

"The Boomers threatened an upset after a brilliant start, leading 26-18 against a side ranked seven places higher than them."
No one would have considered it as an upset.

Yes - I agree it may not be an upset but I have to point out that Australia (and NZ for that matter) always seem to be over ranked due to the ridiculous qualification process they go through for the World Cup and the Olympics. The World Cup is especially bad where two slots are given....there wasn't even a qualification process for Oceania. They played, but the results didn't matter. Ridiculous. Fold this region into Asia already please.

Anyways...Australia has some great young talent, but this current roster is not overly impressive as it is missing key players like Patty Mills. Lots of end of the bench NBA talent on this roster, but I don't think that always translates well to FIBA.

And "stars" is a relative term...I am sure in Australia Delly and Bairstow are indeed NBA "stars". Delly might even be a "star" in Cleveland.
