He's no upgrade for Schalke and might rot on the bench behind "superstar" Huntelaar.
And for Bremen they sold Selke to keep di Santo and are now losing him, too. Where are the goals going to come from for Werder Bremen? I have no idea other than Junuzovic free kicks (now that is a man Schalke couldve used instead of di Santo).

Well, not only that.
He pretty much screwed up Bremen's offseason and will only net them €6 M, if those Bild numbers are true. And most of the time they are, even with that crazy €41M tag from Firmino. :P

Bremen will need a striker even though they've got some talent cause Anthony Ujah as your only proven one is not enough to have a solid season.

For Schalke, well maybe those Huntelaar to Turkey rumors are true and they're able to get rid of his huge salary while replacing him with the younger di Santo.

Also, Kevin Kuranyi joined Hoffenheim on a one year deal, if it wasn't reported here earlier.

BTW: Given that there've been some questions about the Bundesliga being broadcasted in the United States.
Fox Sports will cover that starting this season and they're having a series about media days in Germany etc. on their FOX Soccer youtube channel.

Here's one of them.

We may have left 2 points on the table with our wastefulness and the late goal we gave up to Dusseldorf, but with BFC starting their season with 0-3 and us looking great; I can't complain. Already better than last year's start.

Here is to hoping we play with our 3rd league team in the first cup game against Cottbus. They seem to be in good form winning their first match 4-0 against Holstein Kiel.

Bundesliga team is just going to get eliminated again haha.

Hopefully Fox Sports 1 picks up at least a game a week, and that the league doesn't get pushed to FS2. Maybe Big Fox will show some games too.

That is the dream...

EDIT:
Tottenham - Timo Werner links. :/ Werner/Lamela - Kane with Eriksen behind them could be fun to watch, but I'm skeptical that it would work well for Timo to move abroad at this point. Rather see him stay at VFB for a year, or join one of the clubs in the top half of the table.

Ancelotti would be very interesting.

Would make the league exciting. He cant win league titles to save his life.

Finally. Hopefully they will dedicate a page or two to some of the smaller club we dont know or hear much about. The likes of Hallescher, Preußen Münster, Sonnenhof Großaspach, Union Berlin etc.

Here are a couple guys in no order who I think might have their breakout season:

Thorgan Hazard, Gladbach.
Gladbach are loaded with offensive players but I feel with the departure of Kruse Hazard will find a way to introduce himself to the starting XI despite Favre's love affair with Raffael. Plus Drmic will probably need some time to adapt to Favre's system which could force Favre to play Raffael up front.

Jairo Samperio, Mainz 05.
His technical ability is very good already. Here is to hoping that after his rookie season he is now physically ready and can showcase his abilities more consistently.

Julian Brandt, Bayer Leverkusen.
He'll be Leverkusen's first winger off the bench and should get plenty of minutes despite Son and Bellarabi ahead of him in the rotation.

Jonathan Tah &/or Tin Jedvaj Bayer Leverkusen.
Jedvaj should get a lot of burn at the RB position once again. For Tah it might take the yearly Papa shoulder injury to take the starting spot, though.

Pavel Kaderábek, 1899 Hoffenheim.
Dude will sleepwalk in Hoffenheim starting XI. Well, that's not saying much but I expect that he'll establish among the better RBs of the league.

Leon Goretzka, Schalke 04.
The key for him is staying healthy. If he Geis, Meyer & Sane stay healthy Schalke will easily have the most promissing midfield in the league for years.

Levin Öztunali, Werder Bremen (belongs to Leverkusen).
HSV managed to lose him to Leverkusen before he actually played for their pro team. That means he must become a top player.

Breakout team: 1. FC Köln.
Schmadtke did an amazing job on the transfer market.
Heintz and Sörensen should take over the starting CB positions relatively swift.
Bittencourt and Jojic are great reinforcements for their midfield. And Yannick Gerhardt might explode as well.

Roman Bürki, Borussia Dortmund.
Arguably he already had his breakout season in Freiburg but as a Dortmund keeper he will be much more in the focus and media will probably hype him a lot if he performs well.

Felix Klaus, Hannover 96.
I'm a fan of him for a couple years now. Similar to Jairo, he does not have enough assertiveness yet.
Hannover will make or break him. He'll basically walk into the starting XI but it'll be tough to have any kind of success with that roster.

Carlos Gruezo, VFB Stuttgart.
Dude is a little pitbull. I hoped we would go for him after Geis departure but unfortunately we didn't.

Filip Kostic, VFB Stuttgart.
He played a large role in Stuttgart not getting relegated. If he can somehow replicate that form he'll have a very good season.

Timo Werner, VFB Stuttgart.
I'm not that high on him and he had a very tough last season. However, going into his 3rd Bundesliga season at only 19 I kind of have to expect a higher efficiency in front of the goal. Plus Stuttgart's striking rotation is not exactly what I would call deep so a breakout seems forseeable.

Pierre-Emile Höjbjerg, Bayern München.
Only in case he goes back to Augsburg on loan, though. If not he'll ride the bench along with Kurt and Kimmich.

if you are barely getting playing time in one of the worst clubs in bundesliga at age of 22, i would say zidane ship has sailed.

I expect him to get playing time and improve as well, given what Gladbach paid.
Though, Raffael's still pretty good and Drmic scored nicely in those preseason games so far. Then there are also Hrgota and Andre Hahn, who was played at ST in preseason by Favre.

On the wings, Herrmann's starting right now and Traore's been playing fantastic in this preseason.
And you also have Fabian Johnson.

Jairo had some nice games at the end of the season and should see more playing time.
Brandt is absolutely on the brink of breaking out and Son + Bellarabi have to be really good to keep him on the bench.

Goretzka should already be an option for the national team, if it weren't for his injuries. Him and Geis should be a nice combo for Schalke at the CM spots.

And yeah, Öztunali(the grandson of Uwe Seeler) is yet another youngster that HSV sold, while buying the likes of Holtby, Behrami etc.

Could be and Schmadte is doing a great job there with transfers and keeping expectations on a solid level.
Still, that 2nd year is always tough and teams won't play them as offensively as they did last season.

Klaus I could see happening as well, given that Frontzeck also likes to play a more offensive style and that helps with stats for guys like him.

Kostic was great at the end of the season but is also the reason why I'm not sure about Werner breaking out. They both play on the left wing and they also have Ginczek at striker, which limits Werner's playing time.

Who the thell is calling Demirbay the next Zidane?
Hamburger Morgenpost?

The kid has talent but he's still hasn't been able to play a stable season at age 22 and he's also never played a full Bundesliga season.
Last year at Kaiserslautern he was riding the bench quite a bit and he's also more of a #8 then what Zidane used to play.

BTW: I guy I could see breaking out is Marc Stendera of Eintracht Frankfurt. Great technical abilities and shooting touch but he needs to decide on either gaining some weight and playing a CM role or losing some to be able to play at that #10 spot, if Veh is interested in a system featuring one.

Also, keep Andreas Christensen in mind, who's been really good during the preseason and could see time with Stranzl and even Dominguez(back) having some trouble.

He wasnt even impressing in 2nd league at Kaiserslautern. His potential is no more than becoming a "Mitläufer" on Bundesliga level.
If any HSV youngster breaks out its probably Gideon Jung.

@Det: Stendera (like Baba or Wendell, too) had his breakout season last year already IMO.
Its more about replicating last season for him this year.

I have already praised Schmadtke earlier in this thread and I really like their offseason as well. But I think they are one year away from breaking out. The team should be more fun to watch but is also very young. Most of the additions are 23 or younger.
The club is set up for the future pretty well, but next year they should focus on replicating last season's success. Finishing in midfield and staying out of the relegation battle.

11Freunde predictions.

Frankfurt 6th is weird. Veh is a downgrade from Schaaf. Wolfsburg will struggle big time if they sell De Bruyne. They underrate HSV and Stuttgart as well.
