Ugh we get Belgium again, they'll take our lunch money and easily win group H. Glad we got that trash Greece team from pot 3 though, that should open the door for Bosnia to get 2nd and have a play-off. Getting way too ahead of myself here though, a lot can happen in the next year or two.

How come someone can say Group G is tough?
There are only two good teams. That's it.

CONCACAF sucks too. Just saying, so many crap teams. It's Just too easy for the top reams. Wish we could mix things up.

it is still harder to go through uefa than any other federation. sure conmebol has higher concentration of good teams but also 50 percent the teams qualify. in uefa you usually have to fight off 1 top team and 1 or 2 solid teams, then another solid team in playoffs if necessary. in conmebol as long as you are better than venezuela, bolivia, peru and paraguay, you are basically in.

I don't know man. I think CONMEBOL is the hardest. There's really no easy game other than Bolivia, and that's only at home because playing in La Paz is no joke.
Colombia opens with Peru at home, than Uruguay and Chile away, then Argentina. Peru is the only "easy" game. There are so many joke games in UEFA where even a crappy England team will win by 6

Re: 2018 FIFA World Cup qualification (UEFA)
those crappy games are lose-lose, winning them wont matter since other group contenders will also win and losing them is a death certificate.
colombia has some tough games but difference is they dont necessarily have to win them, they can finish 5-10 points behind argentina, brazil, chile and still qualify. belgium for example has to beat bosnia and greece, croatia has to be ukraine and turkey, italy has to beat spain or they are stuck in playoffs against another solid team etc. having 50-odd teams is sure to produce some bad teams but overall uefa has more good teams and less chance to qualify.

What do you think would be harder for Turkey, beating Croatia and Ukraine to the top spot or making a top 5 ahead of 2 of Brasil, Argentina, Chile, Uruguay, Colombia, Ecuador(huge home advantage due to altitude).
If I was Turkish, I'd take my chances against Croatia and Ukraine.

Re: 2018 FIFA World Cup qualification (UEFA)
i would definitely take croatia and ukraine over ecuador. rest is wash but atmosphere in ukraine and particularly croatia would scare me more.

Re: 2018 FIFA World Cup qualification (UEFA)
Still, Croatia got slapped around in the world cup and that's the head of the group. Ecuador at home is very tough, even Argentina struggles there. The altitude is why they qualify.
My post is not to disrespect Turkey, I'd absolutely love to have a team like Turkey in CONMEBOL. Just saying that I'd Def take my chances beating Croatia than finishing top 5 in CONMEBOL. Hell if you offered me that deal as a Colombian, I'd take it in a heart beat.

Re: 2018 FIFA World Cup qualification (UEFA)
i wouldnt bring up world cup if i were you, europe goes to south american soil and puts more teams in quarter finals then wins it. conmebol comes to europe they barely put two teams in last eight and never won in european soil.

Re: 2018 FIFA World Cup qualification (UEFA)
Oh no argument, the top is better at UEFA, only Brasil and Argentina to Germany, France, Italy, Spain, Netherlands, etc.
However, top to bottom CONMEBOL is better and there are only 5 CONMEBOL teams to 13 Europeans, the odds favor UEFA for numbers in the quarters. Add to that that 4 of the S. American teams played each other in the second round and you have your "greater numbers". 2010 CONMEBOL put 4 teams in the quarters, 4 out of 5.
Chile, Colombia, Argentina, Uruguay, and Brasil beat all their UEFA rivals except Germany.

Re: 2018 FIFA World Cup qualification (UEFA)
they should get rid of confederations, we are not in 1950 there are fast planes that can get you from any part of the world to other part of the world in 20 hours max.
Just make 32 groups with countries all over the world ( make two previous knock out phases to square the Bahamas of the world vs the Andorras and etc) and let the REAL 32 best teams make it to the WC.
Of course that would probably mean 20 european teams 8 Southamerican teams and just 4 out of the rest of the globe :p
