I'm one of the Goodwin fanboys here.

I would never dump him just to get a second rounder or to clear 1 million off the cap lol.

But if he was requested as a piece for a trade for a really good player. You have to pull the trigger. Because you don't get many opportunities to get really good players.

But Goodwin has improved a lot IMO.
He is nailing 3s, nailing jump shots. The one thing he hasn't improved much is patience. He still plays in top gear or order gear.... No middle gears. But that comes with age and maturity.

With minutes Goodwin has produced. You can't deny that. And he is 20 years old. He could be coming out of college now.

Bogdanovic and Goodwin are two favorite suns prospects. Won't give them up unless for a really really good player.

Goodwin is literally Wiggins. I wouldn't part with him for a bounty anything short of KLove

if a 3 time all 1st team defense who would stretch the floor for the Suns not be considered extremely valuable in this system than who is? Also do you think Booker, Bogdan and Goodwin will all still be here long term? Unless Bledsoe and/or Knight get traded, keeping all three is unlikely.

You're saying you wouldn't trade away two unproven late 1st rounder, a moody Markieff and some mid to late 1st rounder picks for a PROVEN NBA big man?

For that matter, Ibaka is only turning 26 in September. A soon to be 26 year old PF, who has developed a good 3PT shot, is a multiple time All-NBA Defensive FIRST teamer and has been deep in the playoffs isn't worth a guy who has played spot minutes and Bogdan who hasn't even played a single NBA minute?

Oh I'm sorry did your feathers get ruffled? Goodwin hasn't even been given a chance and Bogdan hasn't even played on this team yet we should dump them immediately for Ibaka. I'm glad that you aren't the GM.

You act as if we're trading them for David Lee

Serge Ibaka is really **** good if you haven't noticed

and I have two tiers of youth here

Tier 1: Warren, Booker

Tier 1.5: Bogdan

Tier 2: Goodwin

I concur with these tiers. I would however move Archie down one notch to Tier 2.5

Here I'll start the debate, we should trade Kieff/Tucker/Goodwin/Bogdanovic/Leur +Cleveland's pick/Suns 2016 pick/Miami 2017 pick for Derrick Favors.
I'll even post the responses I'll receive for this trade proposal. If you have a different response, feel free to add yours to the list below.

Boring part of offseason is boring.
haha! One of the wittiest posts I've read on here in a while. Wit is always at it's sharpest when grounded in truth. Funny post. Well done Qwigglez.

I'm really jelly of Utah's core tbh they are already a defensive juggernaut in the making after theygot rid of Kanter who was holding them back . I think they are just lacking firepower and really need just one established go-to scorer at the 2 in order to make the jump to contention. They assembled a formidable young frontcourt at premium positions where acquirable talent is hard to come by all while drafting in the late lotto until they bottomed out and landed Exum. We could learn a thing or two about rebuilding from them so we don't continue on with our love affair with chasing dime a dozen PGs. Favors is my dream PF and I would sell the farm for him even if that means we would have to deal with the spacing issues later. But that ain't happening.

Here's my contribution

I guess what I don't understand is why you would want Favors. Yeah, we all see the stats he gets, but what kind of system does he excel in? How would he fit into a Suns system that relies on stretching the floor? Just saying you like him is fine, but I would like to understand the thought process about how he would fit into the Suns system and how we would be better with him.

But Thunder wouldnt. They NEED Ibaka.

Only way they'll consider is for the Suns to offer Morris and Knight.

The question is whether you would make Bogdan and Archie your dealbreaker in a hypothetical deal for Ibaka.

Obviously the Thunder wouldn't never do that deal but a GoranTragic thinks we're giving up too much for a guy who is only a bit better than Kieff.

Fernandez, Tucker, Lopez, Clark, Morris, Marshall, Len, Goodwin, Warren, Ennis, Bogdanovic, Booker

That's 12 first round picks over 8 years.

Would you honestly not trade 6 of them for an All-Star quality player and the other 6 for another?

I don't think we'd have taken 6 picks outside the top 10 for Dragic (before last year, really what's the point), so if the roles are reversed we should be doing it.

Picks 10-30 have a 1 in 20 chance of being an All-Star since 2003. So it would take trading to get 20 picks to average 1 All-Star, opposed to trading 6 picks to get 1.

Well, I think it's time to stay away until the season starts. This idle chatter is going nowhere.
SHAZAM!

Suns traded Mikal Bridges, Cam Johnson, Jae Crowder and 4 1st round picks and a swap so some Vegas Bookies would like us.

Too much now.
Ibaka is a very good cornerstone player but is not an all-star.

Goodwin AND Bogdan??
That's too much potential, I'd ask Thunder to give back a future protected pick.

My fear is, Bogdanovic becomes a Klay Thompson level player (good IQ, defense, size, outside shot, inside shot).. Then Goodwin gets minutes becomes a 15ppg/5rpg/2spg slasher... Aka a poor man's Butler. And then Ibaka doesn't push the suns over since he lacks the scoring punch to really help Suns front court offensively.

For Cousins?? A 24/12/3 big man. hell yeah!
But Ibaka? Id draw the line in Kieff, Tucker, One of Goodwin OR Bogdanovic, heat pick.

Heck for Cousins, I'd offer...

Chandler, Kieff, Tucker, Booker, Heat pick, Suns pick.

I want a Bledsoe, Knight, Cousins core.

But likely kings would ask for one of Bledsoe/Knight and Chandler.
