I had seen that last one, and maybe the second one. Definitely hadn't seen the first, though.

What do you think if Kap's delivery in those videos? It is hard for me to tell. In the early videos I could tell but not on these.

It looks like he's reverted a bit. I was seeming more long-striding and flat-footedness than I saw in some of the very early OTA videos. His arm motion still looked tighter, but I wasn't crazy about the footwork.

He went back down to Arizona to work with Giles after the OTAs. Hopefully he can tighten things up a bit.

That's what I'd heard. It's obviously going to be a process. He's not going to become Peyton Manning circa 2006 overnight (or, in all likelihood, ever). I'll settle for a bit more accuracy on the short-to-mid-range, and better touch on deep balls and passes to his RBs.

If he throws a handful of better balls a game I'd consider his offseason work a success.
And at least he's taken a step in the process of becoming a better passer of the ball rather than running track in the offseason.

Re: 49er Videos from OTAs & Steve Logan
I think Torrey Smith could pay some big dividends. If he catches just a handful of deep balls for TDs, that could swing several games to us. We had so few big plays last year. Boldin had 12 games without a catch that went for more than 30, and 13 games at 32 yards or below. Crabtree had 13 games without a reception over 30, and 14 games at 32 or below. Vernon had a 29-yard TD in week one, and that was his longest reception of the season. And Frank didn't break 30 yards on a run until week 15 against SD, and only had one reception over 11 yards.
If Torrey Smith can break a few more of those, and Vernon can get back to his old self, our offense actually has the chance to be much better this year. Though most of that rests on Kap's shoulders.

Not surprising how few deep balls there were last year. With Vernon slowed last year, there were no deep threats. The starting WR's were possession types and both MC and SJ were less than 100% for most of the year. SJ was really slowed by knee injury and Crabtree had not regained his pre-achilles burst. Torrey Smith's speed and downfield threat at least will cause defenses to adjust and hopefully helps open things up underneath.
