I certainly believe so but to be objective non fans won't buy it unless they see something concrete by their own eyes.

I am not sured how to compare PGs if you do not consider what plan coach wants him to play, what is his strength and how does he fit with other players ( spacing, PnR, FG% on 3 , mid-range) and so on. APG data could be very misleading if a he only has few chances to have balls or other players he passes to have low FG% like Kobe this year.

sometimes the ability to rise to stardom means you can overcome obstacles to prove yourself. And of course certain amount of luck comes into play.

Adidas teams with WRG to construct Sports Base in Hong Kong, sports hub launched with Jeremy Lin.

Adidas have teamed up with WRG to create a unique sports hub in Hong Kong to encourage young people to take up sport this summer. In an uprecedented event, adidas and WRG have created a sports venue set against the backdrop of the iconic Hong Kong skyline, offering a range of activities for young people.

Comprised of a full-sized basketball court and football pitch, the adidas Sports Base gives young people the chance to try football, basketball, fitness training, yoga and running as part of the adidas “Boost Your Summer” 2015 programme.

The adidas Sports Base will also see the launch of new lines from adidas, endorsed by appearances from global sporting icons, kicking off with adidas NBA superstar Jeremy Lin.

The Charlotte Hornets and former LA Lakers player launched the adidas Sports Base on 1 July, unveiling the new adidas Crazylight Boost basketball shoes, in a series of play-offs and basketball challenges with young sports fans.

The adidas Sports Base officially opened to the public on 2 July to overwhelming demand and will run for six weeks.

Jordan is leveraging his significant marketing influence in coordination with Lin in China. I'm confident it's one of the reasons why Lin signed for such a reasonable deal. It was also probably a big factor in his decision to sue the Chinese company that is infringing on his brand over there. He definitely has big plans to push product in China. If Lin is successful on this team (which I think all of us hope for) Jordan would be smart to buy a professional team in China if he can. Basketball is a burgeoning sport and more kids over there are picking the game up all the time, it would be a smart move on his part.

I doubt it. This doesn't have anything to do with Jordan.

Jordan is Nike. This Sports Base in Hong Kong is with Adidas, Lin's sponsor, and was done prior to him even signing with the Hornets.

The fundraiser for orphans is with his Christian contacts, although it's a non-proselytizing event. All the attendees are Christians, and it's being reported in the Christian press.

If Lin wanted to exploit his marketing, he would have gone to a big city market instead of Charlotte. He's with the Hornets for basketball reasons, not marketing ones.

Now, that's not to say there's no opportunity for Jordan and Lin to help each other in the future, but there's no sign of that yet, and certainly no coordination on these events that were likely planned long before he signed with the Hornets. And the chances for future work might be a bit limited, since Lin is with Adidas and not with Jordan's Nike brand.

Never would have fathomed this thread would hit 50 pages this soon. I underestimated Lins popularity entirely

Jeremy Lin is the most controversial figure in the NBA during these years.
Watch NBA since 1998. Huge fan of A.C. Fiorentina, Spurs & Tim Duncan, Yao Ming & Linsanity, Brooklyn & Coney Island. Former Brooklyn Chinese resident.

From homeless (slept on Knicks teammate's sofa), to make every New Yorkers crazy happy overnight. It is old, but great story. It looks like Lin just wants to find some peace and just enjoy the games now. But many of his fans wish he could shine again (including me sometimes).

His thread on LG reached 500 pages and they still talk about him on his previous team forum as well.

It would have probably hit 100 pages long ago if this were the more heavily trafficked RealGM Knicks or Raptors forums. I think the Knicks board went through several 100 page threads in a single day during the off-season when Dolan declined to match Lin. Took like less than an hour to fill up a 100 page thread that day.

At this rate, we may even hit 100 and have to close this and start a new thread before the season even begins.

Might want to look at stats..other than free throw % and TO's, Lin puts up better numbers across the board. Plus he's bigger...

Are you serious? Then what does that make Kemba? because looking at per 36 and when Lin is not being marginalized, he is a better player than Kemba so does that make Lou better than Kemba too?

Lou did not have the best 5 game star tin NBA history, Lou did not put up triple double off the bench while being marginalized, Lou did not lead Lakers in points, steals and assists (per KHuang), Lou did not post 19 PER post all star break 2013/2014 etc

Geez dude... You are fanboying way too much... And this is coming from a fan of Lin. Trying to make other players look bad is not a good way to support Lin at all. Bringing up the positive things Lin did is good, but not when you do it to make other players look bad. That's why people get so fed up with Lin fans and me too, even though I'm a fan of Lin.

+100000.

We're trying to move past the culture from the previous boards which was mostly toxic.

How about trying to support the entire TEAM now that he's in a better place. Go Lin, go Kemba, go Hornets.

Agree! Let's hope every player in Hornets healthy and plays their best all season.
