I think it's the soundtrack to the NwA movie.

Meek had a legit shot if he handled this differently. Don't leak the reference tracks without a diss record and no delays and he'd be in this easily if not ahead.

It's a soundtrack but it's 100% new music and produced by Dre (though I'm sure will have a bunch of co-producers like 2001 did).

He had a great opportunity with the: "Tell me who Quentin was running through the 6 with; que the reference" and on top of that spit some more nice bars. He would have been right there with Drake, even winning after the "I´m charged up". He made some rookie mistakes: showing his hand too early, letting expectations build up to a crazy level; drake played him smoothly with adding more pressure by saying it´s been four days etc. To then show up with the weak showing: "I wanna know" that´s asinine. His crew is full of yes-men.

Also the line "Trigger fingers turn to twitter fingers" is on point when you see how many tweets Meek has 20k+ and Drake has 1k. **** thought this would be a twitter battle.

Not too many people care about Drake having a ghostwriter or the reference tracks. Meek had a chance to not completely embarrass himself, but he flopped. Drake has influence in multiple genres of music...he just has way more fans than Meek. There was really no way that Drake would end up taking a major hit from this beef. Meek had to hold it down for hip hop...he has no other type of fans, and he F'd it up. The fact that he started this over some pretty sh*t on twitter makes him look even worse. He got bodied by this dude...

Ironic that dre's name comes up. Biggest fraud in hip hop. Not only has he never written his own raps,... the legendary producer had a team of legendary ghost producers doing his beats. Dre is just a name.

I think if he had proof Drake actually didn't write his verses, and he didn't start this over the most petty ish ever he'd be done. But 4 tracks of hooks (and some uncompleted) and flows? I'd bet money Meek's used the same ish and it's already a known fact that people clown on Drake snatching flows (look at how he did Migos). But at best people were still going to look at Meek sideways for snitching and only real rap fans would stop listening to Drake.

Yes, it's the soundtrack to the movie in the same vein Jay-Z's American Gangster was the soundtrack to American Gangster.

I heard the show he said it himself, this is the album replacing Detox.

During “The Pharmacy” radio show on Beats 1 on Saturday (Aug. 1), Dre took to the airwaves to share the big news. “I decided during principal photography [for Straight Outta Compton] that I was leaving the set, coming to the studio, and I felt myself just so inspired by the movie that I started recording an album,” he said. “I started recording a soundtrack. I kept it under wraps, and now the album is finished.”

He described it as “bananas,” adding, “It’s an inspired-by album, it’s inspired by Straight Outta Compton. I’m really proud of this, I’m excited about it.”

I feel that at most, Drake would have lost a decent amount of pure hip hop fans but that's it. Meek had the most to lose from this, and he just killed himself. Now we have people running around totally disrespecting Meek talking about how Nikki wifed him lol. Even if Drake doesn't write anything, he proved in "Back to Back" that he can still come up with bars if he needs to

that boss bitch line while created alot of laughs is actually not true. The only reason why Drake said it, was because she got more bread that him, but that's a given, she is more successful than him. The reality is that Drake has always wanted Nicki,he has said it to many times in interviews and the likes, but the reality is that chicks like Nicki dont like clowns like Drake, for relationships. He is not masculine enough. He is weak and awkward in real life. Nicki Grew up in southside queens, Drake is from a Jewish Neighborhood. Two different worlds. Drake actually gets curbed alot by good looking women. Meek took Nicki from another dude. Meeks G was so official with her, he was in Jail and still was able to bag that enough for when he came home.It was over for that safaree dude. The reality is drake is salty behind that. He might have hit her on the low, but he WANTED her as his girl, and could not get her. See for mad heads, that line meant everything, but real heads know its fluff, cause Nicki did not wife Meek at all. He is the one who bagged her... Thats a FACT. All these cats across the world sweating her, and the so called ugly cat who screams from philly bagged her...**** all the dumb ****. Meek showed he a G on that front.

I actually think the toughest punch in the track is the "Is that a world tour or your girl's tour...this ain't what she meant when she told you to OPEN UP more" ...that's some clever word play and a hard hit at Meek's success. Battles aren't really about the truth when it comes down to it, it's about perception and Drake took advantage of the larger public not knowing Meek so well outside of his relationship with Nicki. It was a smart strategy, just like the "bodied by a singin' n***a" bar did wonders for taking away one of the stronger angles Meek could have used on some "I'm not even supposed to win this, you're the street cat...but look what's happening" ,he flipped the perception to take advantage of his image instead of get smoked for it. I also like that you can hear the influence of contemporary battle rap, going back to that world tour or your girl's tour multi, it feels like a nice fit with the old WRC set-ups where there's a jab mixed in with the set-up.

All those bars are better than the wifed up by nicki line. To me it dont matter about the "larger public" cause that larger public is the white crowd, and out of touch old heads. The majority of young hip hop, and older heads who intune, knew who Meek was. Its the reason why Drake responded. Meek is big enough to warrant a response.People acting like Meek is an unknown, but he is not. He may not have Drakes star power, but he is a High Profile artist. Your not going to be signed to MMG and not be known to a great degree.

Yah, his energy is great but I just don't like the actual music. He's alright when he's featured on stuff (They Don't Love You No More, Play Your Part, etc) but aside from that, I only like 3 songs I think (Dreams and Nightmares, House Party, and Amen -- which is meh, IMO).

I'm not really hyped for this like I should be mostly because when Kush leaked he said he was mad because the rest of Detox wasn't like that (as great as that song was). So then I was wondering what the album was like and the only other track we heard was I Need a Doctor which is a terrible song and direction. Not only is it a complete 180 from what made him great but everything about the song is weak as hell. If this album is more I Need a Doctor than Kush I'll be very mad.
