Yours is based on hogwash and more assumptions. I have no fondness or personal connection to Kief whatsoever. In fact, I don't think much of him at all, and hated it when we drafted him. What I have a fondness for is not trading our young players on fantastic contracts who perform damn well for absolute trash or players closer to being in wheel chairs than the age of our core. I also have a fondness for not reading one person's actions as endorsed by another's with no evidence whatsoever other than a close personal relationship. I hope McDonough's brother doesn't start tweeting that Sarver is a tool or I guess that means we have to get rid of him too, particularly if they are close.
I am defending Markieff here because he is doing exactly what I would do. What you all are expecting of Markieff is something that neither I, nor many reasonable people would do. If my employer fired my brother (which is essentially what Phoenix did to Marcus), I would try to keep myself out of it. I wouldn't go on twitter to publicly denounce my sibling, nor would I necessarily reach out to my employer. I'd literally be doing the exact things Markieff is right now, which is giving it time and acting like a professional by working on my game and staying off of social media. Him getting involved in anyway is a lose-lose situation--he either hurts his family or his relationship with his employer. And if you had any sibling as stupid as Marcus Morris and strongheaded as him, you couldn't talk him out of tweeting no matter how hard you tried, and no matter how close you are to him. Either way though, I wouldn't even consider it my business.
Also, the bolded is one of the stupidest things I've read here. Our FO has been silent ever since McDonough walked through the door. We're the silentest team in the entire freaking league.
Hmmmm.... so I assume Marcus and Markeif both feel the same way towards the Suns, but you are certain they don't. I guess you got me there.
You also think it is just fine he hasn't said anything positive after issuing a negative, just as you would do. Got me again, as unreasonable me would have went with a positive public statement somewhere in the mix.
You also think that his silence is so he wont upset his stupid brother even more and diss the FOE label ? Implying that Keif got all the patience and smarts

You also assume McDuh will trade away KeifMo for scraps.
Well, I guess your assumptions are better than mine.
Yes, our FO is a quiet, non leaking one.... but other than one comment on KeifMo weeks ago, we have not heard one peep if they want him. I guess you got me on that one.... still as this drags on, with no olive branch from either, it will not bode well for KiefMo returning to do anything but pack his bags....and/or community service
Now excuse me.... I have pigs to bathe
What ? Me Worry ?

Zero assumptions is the proper thought.

No. I know that one person's actions shouldn't be judged by another's based on nothing but an assumption. I also believe in logical reasoning that if I was in the same situation as Markieff, I'd act the exact same way regardless, so reading anything into it is flat out stupid. There is simply no way for Markieff to win by chiming in on Marcus' twitter rampage. He either pisses off his brother or pisses off his employer and fans. So he's choosing not to play at all, which is the right choice. It's exactly what I would do in the same situation.
Your second paragraph proves my point. You think he should issue something positive? Why? He shouldn't care to say anything at all at this point. He should distance himself from the issue and focus on getting better at basketball. Also, in this situation it's Marcus issuing the negative. You're once again getting them confused because you assume they are the same person. And besides, once again, if he says something good about PHX, he's just going to cause a family issue with his brother.
My assumptions favor giving the benefit of the doubt due to logical reasoning, so yes, they are better than yours in this scenario.

Yes...thank you.
Additionally, if Markieff is halfway intelligent (which i believe he is), he understands why they were separated. AND, if he understands why they were separated, then he must also understand that no NBA team will ever take the risk in reuniting the two. Yes, they can be pissed, its understandable.....but in Marcus' case, being as immature as he is, he is deflecting blame onto the suns for his own actions. Much like a stupid kid would say "I hate the cop that gave me a DUI", when in fact it's their own fault for driving drunk. Markieff is predictably stuck in the middle. He can't say "brother you done f'd up" and also cannot say "you stupid cop how dare you." he just looks more foolish in the end. So he stays silent.
IF Markieff were truely pissed, the silent treatment isnt the most effective way to get yourself traded. if he were truly angry deep down and wanted to screw the suns over royally, his best course of action is to speak out. this would do two things.
a.) lower his value so much that the suns would be forced to trade him for pennies just to get rid of him.
b.) force the suns to release him. they'd be stuck with the bill, he'd get paid, and he'd still be on the suns cap.
All it would take is one tweet, a mere 5 seconds to force the sun's hand. It's been a month, and he hasnt made a move.
Logically, you have to compare what he has done to what he COULD have done.
So the idea that Markieff saying nothing is a terrible thing, just doesnt make sense. To me, his silence is more of an affirmation that he realizes, in the long term, this is a positive thing for both him and his brother.
Lastly, during this whole DMA scenario, the suns could have probably packaged the two together to Detroit. the pistons had already lost Monroe, and had traded for Ilyasova.......so a possible trade would have been to include Markieff and Ilyasova into their trade. Skill-wise Markieff would have been an upgrade, so Detroid COULD have had the brothers easily.

Re: Suns Offseason Thread 4: Where's Terrence Williams?
apparently, I have been out assumptioned.
Love the 'separation' of brothers theory. These guys are one fleshy hiplink away from being Siamese twins. I guess now, in the face of adversity, KeifMo has stepped back and let his brother walk the plank alone. His calmer more logical 'would be better to exercise crowd control than kick this guy in the ribs' demeanor has taken over. Knowing full well that tweeting something like 'No Bro, grrrr....But Dayum...look forward to playing with TChandler and the rest' would upset CusMo, to possibly opening up some whoopass on his own FandB (thats my hard slang for flesh and blood... just like grrrr means angry ... IBLegit
)
Really ?
How did I get so far off base ?
But I do agree with 'Markeif is halfway intelligent' ... we can shorten though,
to halfwit.

Re: Suns Offseason Thread 4: Where's Terrence Williams?
Great post ASUd. If Keef wanted off the Suns, all it would take is a 5 second tweet calling the team a "bunch of cracker-ass clowns" or trashing the fans again. He could easily force his way off the team, yet has remained silent and quiet on social media. I'm sure in the back ground he is supporting his bro, but I think Keef realizes he is in a good situation in Phoenix. Why would he want to get traded to a trash team that has no chance of anything for years to come? I think we give him time and he'll tweet something positive about "missing his team mates" or " can't wait to win a chip this year" type statement. He has to show loyalty to his bro, but Keef will come around eventually.asudevil wrote:AtheJ415 wrote:Frank Lee wrote:

I agree with most of your post, but I don't think the Suns were that eager to deal Markieff earlier in the summer, not to Detroit for anything they might have offered.
Also, just because Markieff hasn't publicly said anything, I'm guessing the front office knows where he stands. They did mention that people related to the FO have been in contact with him. If he didn't tell these people outright, they probably still have a pretty good idea on what his thoughts are. I'm sure the FO isn't sitting around completely clueless.
And who is DMA? Are you confusing Demarcus Cousins and LaMarcus Aldridge?

Re: Suns Offseason Thread 4: Where's Terrence Williams?
Random thought, and surely not to be a popular one, I think one young pf that is ready to break out and can be had and cheap is Anthony Bennett. Yes he was drafted too high, and yes he has taken a couple years to develope but if you look at the year he had last year, he is on the cusp of contributing. I wouldnt mind stealing him and continuing his developement in our system with our hopefully new culture (if we have to dump kief of course ). The kid truly is athletic as hell. Has great size, has a good shooting stroke and showed that his brain has begun to catch up with some of his potential this last year. On the right team, this kid is going to be a beast at some point..... yes I said that..I think he will.

You piper-ing KeifKeepers really think HE WANTS TO PLAY HERE? 'Doesn't want to be traded to a trash team" ? Newsflash, this isn't the Suns of old. We aren't trash, but we're not too far from the pile.
IMO, Keif's agent has stepped in and put the gag on. One phone call to McDuh and the wheels turn. In fact, the wheels were likely in motion anyway. Furthermore, if there is a deal out there that is reasonable and fair, Keif has no say in his exodus. I'm guessing the trading partner is simply waiting for the court appearance. Why wouldn't you if you were this close. Didn't matter with CusMo, as his price tag was heavily discounted and his salary needed.
You guys really think there is a place for the waining MoBro after all that has transpired the past year+ ???
Go back and re read McDuh's outline for ideal players and tell us which ones fit and which ones don't. If the FO doesn't stand by its own principles and move KeifMo, their words become warm jello.

Agree. I'd take a chance on him as well.Fo-Real wrote:Random thought, and surely not to be a popular one, I think one young pf that is ready to break out and can be had and cheap is Anthony Bennett.

I've been out of the loop for awhile. Anyways, I take it from what I read is Warren isn't happy and markeiff wants to get traded?
I am such a lucky NBA fan. 8647 My favorite team went from the most greedy and racist owner to the most ego driven dumbass owner in all of sports fdt.

Re: Suns Offseason Thread 4: Where's Terrence Williams?
Keeff isn't going anywhere this summer. Where would he want to go? Philly? Not without an unprotected No 1.
Pistons?
They have nothing to offer outside of Stanley J and Drummond and unprotected No 1 picks.
None of them are willing to cough that up.
I wouldn't doubt Keef feels similarly as Marcus. Its easy to assume that Keef, like his brother, has little acceptance and understanding of the consequences and reactions they get from their behavior. It's pretty immature stuff. Kuddos for staying off twitter somewhat. The protective factor is that we can be a winning team with a solid role for him to play on. That might quiet him and his defenses down some once the season gets started. We'll likely see him just keep distant and quiet all the way through Training Camp until reporters can catch onto his stance and own conflict with our mgt.
Financially, Keef has to realize his market value would have been 12+ million per year had he been a free agent this or next year so he's probably more sour on his contract than his brother especially since he's gone. If money is a big motivator for him, he'll need to play his way into making that big contract. The question is how he'll respond.
And if he is found guilty and did in fact assault the alleged victim, then his prognosis for turning **** around is poor.
So long as we're not willing to give him away, he still retains high value even if things are worst case scenario.

Your contributions to this discussion could be replaced by a talking doll. Let's repeat the same thing in circles until oblivion. I can't wait until the offseason ends.

Wasn't Jordan Hamilton a 2 in college? I can't see him playing the 4. Personally, I'd rather grab a guy who can swing between the 4 and 5, and/or another PG (Mike James maybe, kick Myck Kabongo's tires (his speed could be a real asset here).
