Link me to it. Dont remember seeing it.

Short answer: He had Dr. Dre behind him and unlike other superstar white rappers (Macklemore and Iggy) he's good. Not the best but good.

Macklemore is aight. But what about guys like Asher Roth, Action Bronson, RA Rugged Man, Aesop Rock, El-P, Slug these guys all have talent but don't sell anywhere near the amount Eminem sells. These dudes are all right there for White America to eat up. There's only so much Dr. Dre did for Eminem. He's at another level that some people don't give him credit for just because he's white. The same white people that buy his albums are the same white people that made Jay-Z a megastar. He's not good, he's great. The best? Up for debate, but to say he's not one of the best ever is bull. No one writes like him.

Again comparing those guys to black artists getting as much play as them and in the same lane (mentioning underground rappers? Really? Being obtuse on purpose?) they have waaay more sales. Asher Roth's bad album debuted at 5th and he got no play. RTJ2 debuted at 50 and they're basically the same as Random Axe (83rd) but Random isn't half white. Mr. Wonderful debuted at 7 and Old at 18 despite Action and Danny having the same lane and mostly the same fanbase. I'm done after this I've already brought up a billion examples to you before and you didn't listen. You can't compare trap rappers, underground rappers, and club rappers and act like their sales should match up and you know it.

Oh come on, and you're comparing Danny Brown and Action Bronson? Lol wtf how are they even remotely similar? One raps about being a drug addicted, struggling and suicidal musician while the other raps about basketball players and food. You're doing the **** you're accusing me of. Three examples that are terrible and don't address the point.

I want to rip into you but I respect Cole so much for going platinum with no features and setting up Bas, Cozz (even if I don't like his music like that), and Omen for success. Dreamville is being slept on but their roster is getting strong. Cole needs to start bringing in different types of artists.

OMEN? I thought nobody knew about him. He's awesome. Have you heard Voli? I think he's on Dreamville also. I'll post some stuff if you want.

Nah, I was not feeling song. Now Bobby the person, I have no issue with. I understand what situation he was in and the hood he from. He was having fun, and the song went viral. He was unfairly targeted by the police as well. GS9 is official in east ftatbush in BK. Before the song, they just a click who get it in. Now... they a click who has access to large amounts of money cause of Bobby now. All the stuff they bagged him on...they ALREADY knew. But it was not that serious. They trumped up his charges cause of who he was. The NYPD had to take them dudes down. This is a real crew...not some rap ****. The police went from looking them on the corner one month....Mad Benzes and Gold and His face is everywhere. Police HATE to see **** that. It was all LEGAL now...thats supreme hate.z He went from the Block, Straight to jimmy Fallon. Thats huge where I am from. Its unheard of, they way it happened with him.

Side note. Have you seen Bobby's gorilla...I mean girl?

:o :o :o no...just no...RTJ2 was the album of the year and if anything shoulda sold more. Promotion is all you need to look at to understand most album success. Exposure >>> All factors which is why Speakerboxx/Love Below outsold Aquemini and Atliens and why Wiz Khalifa has the number one single of the year without an album (that Fast and Furious bump is huge).

I think J Cole is Ill. He was kinda weak when he first came out, but I respect his talent. He takes the craft serious.

Em is ill. But another thing that made em sick, is that he comes from poverty. People dont realize how much this plays into how good an mc can be. The Majority of Elite splitters, come from a background of struggling. Em lived a "black life", its why he was so intrenched in the culture. I cant think of to many white rappers that have Em's background and the ciphers he was in. Its why he is one of a kind. Even white America would have hated Em if he was some well off white cat that could spit back then i would think. What made em popular was he was nice and he was rebel.

Never heard of him and he's not Dreamville but he might work with them IDK. They only have those 4 artists. Throw some songs up.

Yep. Cole's features and production back then were always way better than his music. I mean his two best verses might be Beautiful Bliss and Looking For Trouble. 2014 FHD was his first great album IMO the first two were mediocre (Born Sinner was way too somber and to this day I haven't made it through the album. Always dose off).

Best thing Em ever did for his self image was make 8 Mile and have it not completely suck. People ate that "white kid from the hood" battling black dudes to survive chit up. Just added to the value of the white rapper who was better than your favorite black rapper train Em stans ride.

I'm interested to see whether old NWA albums are about to start moving units when the film drops like Missy's DL's spiked when she did the halftime show.

They will for sure. Dre's also riding the promo of that movie with his release too. If the movie is a hit they're going to get paid big time.

Talib Kweli was tweeting this morning that it could be a game changer for hip hop because of how good it is. I gotta find that tweet, it got me hype.

His most recent album / sampler wasn't really that great (weird mix of rock/rap), but he's got some great stuff.
