I forgot to ask this question: Why do you support Mainz when you're from Frankfurt? I know you said before you didnt like Eintracht and their fans(dont know about FSV), but why plucky little Mainz of all clubs then? It would be like if a guy from L.A were fan of Milwaukee Bucks or something like that.

I wanted to support a local club. Mainz is the only club who was actually run reasonably well. 2nd or 1st league was not important for me back in the day. Obviously, 1st league now is better than failing promotion multiple times in a row, though.

Eintracht was in shambles when I started following football. They even almost got relegated to amateur football due to failing to submit licence documents one time. They were what HSV is now, only even worse back in the early 2000s.
Actually, they still are a mess until this day. Bruchhagen got them back on track to becoming a regular Bundesliga member but honestly as the major club from a big city like Frankfurt they should be doing much better than they actually do. Chronic underachievement club.

FSV Frankfurt was always bankrupt.
Darmstadt was in the Regionalliga, sometimes even lower.
Offenbach sucks as well (and still do lol).
Waldhof Mannheim bankrupt, too.
Wiesbaden has no relevant club.

Good to see that the situation in Hannover is still a mess and it gets worse and worse.

Horrible coach, bad team and Martin Kind. I could see that being the combination that takes them to the second BL.

Who cares if they are a a mess. Still a great club who was part of one of the greatest European Cup finals ever against Real Madrid. Great stadium and one of the best fanbases in Germany. But hey, it's not my choice.

Another update for those american soccer fans interested in watching the Bundesliga.

Fox Sports has announced that they'll broadcast 58 games on FOX Sports 1, 60 games on FOX Sports 2, and 105 on Fox Deportes in spanish.

They will also stream every other match on FOX Soccer 2GO and will show the season opener of Bayern Munich vs Hamburger SV(August 14th, 2:30 pm ET) FOR FREE ON YOUTUBE!

If you scroll down the link I've posted you can also find the schedule of games being broadcasted.
I will also put this link in the first post so people can find it easier later on.

Well HSV is not really ruled by a billionaire, he's just sponsoring them and if I'm not completely wrong he's even asking the money back. The millions for exchange market are just a low interest loan.
