But I'm done with the whole feud, I'm waiting on Frankie Ocean to drop his album.
Was it because he didn't write his own verse to Rico? Or was it because Drake didn't show him love at one of his previous concerts? Every reason I've heard sounds petty
What happened is a combination of things.
Meek got Drake for the Rico feature, paid him x amount of money for the feature, cool.
Drake sends his verse over, Meek sees a line that Drake said "The girl of your dreams to me is probably not a challenge", whereas Meek in his verse says "Today I woke up with my dream girl, she rich as a Beatle". That's obviously not cool.
Meek asks Drake & his team if he was trying to come at him subliminally, his team says nah & shows proof Drake didn't even write it so there's no way Drake could've dissed him.
Meek comes at Drake like how you having other people write your sh*t, Drake comes at him like I just did you a favor giving you a feature.
Meek is like you know what whatever, it's industry sh*t & lets it go because he's hosting his Philly sh*t & Drake is the surprise celebrity. Drake on his ego trip decides to not show to Meek's event cuz he still feels a way about Meek coming at him for the Rico sh*t.
To add insult to injury Drake doesn't tweet out Meek's album & Meek just says fu*k it and starts hinting in the interviews that you can't compare him to rappers on top cuz they don't even write their sh*t. Then he just finally goes all out and disses him on Twitter.
It's mainly fu*kery on Drake's side, maybe Meek should've just played the good ol boy role but this a dude from the hood he don't know about that. Reminds me of when DMX was going at Jay cuz Jay was subliminally dissing him & he called him out on it. Jay was just like nah but X didn't give a fu*k.
I had heard about everything except for the subliminal diss in the Rico verse. Honestly bro, this beef has just been some entertainment for me. At the beginning, I didn't see Meek taking such a huge L, but he did it to himself. The main problem I have with Meek is that he made all of this public, but he wasn't ready to come back to a Drake response. "Wanna Know" was so sloppy
