Paul Coro
They always talk about him being important to what they do and that he'll be their starting power forward.

No lie in that. Perfect Babbly speak. He'll be their starting PF until he isn't.

As they should say. Obviously they shouldn't say to a reporter "we are actually shopping him". Unless there is a demand from his agent (and possibly even if there is), I doubt they are desperately trying to get rid of him right now. They may have a plan to come mid season, because more trade options open up when newly signed free agents can be traded.

Even if he wants to be traded, they could say "Listen, we will try and accommodate you if any other team has any interest whatsoever, but you need to play your ass off for a few months to show you have value."

And when I say doubtful, I think it is like 70/30 they are not desperately trying to trade him for whatever right now.

Good post. And agreed. A good Gm doesn't put his intentions out their to anyone.

And I quote (2014) Bruce Arians, "we aren't drafting a QB."

And he ended up reaching for a UDFA in Logan Thomas who can't even secure the third string job.:P

Coro also said the Morrii both love Horny and that the incident on national TV wasn't reflective of their relationship.

Nothing new... just listening to the new BSoTS podcast.

Wow..

Bledsoe + Keef for Favors anybody?

Damn this really sucks for the Jazz. I guess this means we have a better shot to clinch the 8th seed  .But they have no reason to derail their rebuild by blowing it up just because of a temporary setback. Favors +Gobert are both Top 10 in PER and make up the best defensive frontcourt duo in the league. They have no reason to break it up unless they get a established star in return so they would likely scoff at that offer. They drafted Lyles to stretch the floor

At least Dante has youth on his side. Really sucks for him but it means his return to the NBA will be be with his mate Ben Simmons unless he pulls a PG and comes back early... I'm sure the shared experience with Ben will help.

Don't think Utah have enough depth to compete for the 8th seed... but damn Gobert will win them games on his own this season.

I think they'd seriously consider it. Team just like us trying to squeeze in the playoffs,With Exum out of the picture now Trey running the show? lol gonna put alot of pressure back on Hayward

They have depleted backcourt depth but this injury is more devastating for Exum's development than the Jazz's playoffs hopes. He still has a long road ahead with a steep learning curve and accompanying growing pains and it he didn't exactly light it up last year so I doubt he would have suddenly been a key contributor come his sophomore season. He was lost offensively his rookie season but surprised with his potentially elite perimeter D. Him being named the starting PG was more a testament to how bad Burke really was that he lost his job to a scrawny 19 year old Aussie. But I think a lot of posters here are severely overvaluing Bled as a trade chip.

Its terrible luck for Exum, but he hasn't had too much impact on court. I don't think the impact on the season will be that bad or worse than it would have been. It is a blow to his development and future. Still no way to tell if he will be a point or a two guard.

I certainly would not do Bledsoe and Morris for Favors. No chance from my point of view. Big overpay. Favors is decent but limited, and I don't think he would be a great fit next to Chandler. We need a scorer next to Chandler to make sure we get inside buckets.

Yeah sucks for Exum to go down so early in his career but he's young and he'll bounce back. Also agree with SideSwipe, he's not going to be difference between Utah being a playoff team or not.

makes no sense for utah.

Utah isnt competing for anything this season....so why gut the team? Next year will be another one of those play to learn years, and get a decent pick. 2016 they will make a run at a serious playoff spot as long as they hold onto what they have.

What are we doing with the Cleveland pick, surely there is no point with another pick 29 or similar.

Might be very handy using it to trade for an expiring by Feb, someone like Anderson or Batum. We saw what happened with Dragic, hopefully we might be on the other end this time.

Except Lyles can't stretch the floor that well yet. He is more of a midrange type guy. I thought for sure they would try and draft a 4 who can hit the 3.

PHX also adds in: 2016 1st

So, we relieve them of Burke, who they were looking to trade, and Burks, who IMO, was overpaid and is coming off an injury. This helps prepare them for competing next season (Kieff may incur a suspension, and if so, better this season for Utah) and gives them a nice young prospect in Warren. We also 'sweeten' the pot by adding in our 2016 (with Top 10 protection), which may be a late lotto or late teens, more likely.

While we are trying to get to the Playoffs this season, we trade away some 'potential'--you have to spend in order to receive.

Knight / Price / Burke
Burks / Goodwin / Booker
Tucker / Weems / C. Johnson
Favors / Teletovic / Leuer
Chandler / Len

That gives us a solid starting 5, with 'Big 3' potential (Knight, Favors, Len), and decent depth, if Burke can ever figure it out--you never know what a change of scenery will do for him -- Burke/Goodwin/Weems/Teletovic/Len -- that's fantastic depth.

Utah Depth:

Bledsoe / (Exum) / Cotton / Neto
Hood / Millsap
Hayward / Warren / Ingles
KiefMo / Booker / Jerrett / Cooley
Gobert / Cooley (and Kieff when rolling 'small ball')

Thats a horrible trade. Favors is not that much better than Kieff. My goodness Kieff's actual on court play is so undervalued by many. Then you give away an even better player in Bledsoe? And huge potential in TJ? That trade would set the Suns back signficantly. Yikes.

I like Favors, but you want to pair him with someone who is more of a stretch big. I don't think we want to trade Bledsoe.

Two Rich Paul clients, Tristan Thompson and Norris Cole, remain unsigned. Paul does not have many clients to begin with. I wonder how executives around the league view Paul's tactics. Probably not in a positive light. Very strange that he chooses this strategy.
