I just hope he didn't hurt anyone in the incident. That would be the only good news out of this.

I think they set the precedent with Ray McDonald. Putting himself in too many bad situations after multiple chances. He's probably cut today.

Wow. Honestly I'm not even mad at the guy, I'm to the point where I feel sorry for him. He obviously has a serious problem, he's addicted to alcohol, the stuff is poison.

@mattbarrows: There have been 12 #49ers arrests or charges since January 2012; five of them have involved Aldon Smith.

That's not the answer. You can't punish alcoholism out of someone, this guy needs some help. I don't assume for a second that Goodell cares about current for former players though.

From the alcohol is a sickness angle......listen to or at least read the lyrics to Johnny Cash's "The Beast in Me". That will give you insight into people that struggle with demons.
