I wonder if Houston would be interested in a Brian Roberts for KJ McDaniels swap if we added the two Brooklyn 2nds we own?

A lot of this has to do with the fact that he took less money so that he and his brother could play on the same team. He thought that he had a promise and then Phoenix traded his brother to clear cap space....

Lack of professionalism is the problem for me. Even the best case scenario in the felony assault case demonstrates serious character issues.
Maturity seems to be a major question mark. Not interested.

iirc he didn't actually take less money. The deal was that he and Marcus took a split of the total money, PHX gave them a combined 4 years and 13 mil a year, Marcus took 5, Kieff 8. I don't think they were discounted.

I doubt any team would offer that much, so I think you're right.

I didn't bother to do a full search, but Zach Lowe from 2014

There are burblings that perhaps Morris doesn’t play with enough “urgency,” and Phoenix needs to steal some of Intel’s7 best scientists to determine whether the Morris twins lose their individual powers if separated. The brothers told teams before the 2011 draft that they would take less money to stay together, sources say, and if that’s still true, the Suns should apply some pressure.

Re: 2015-16 Fake Trade Thread
Just to keep the Morris talk going
Charlotte Out: Cody Zeller, Brian Roberts
Charlotte In: Markieff Morris
Why? The team really doesn't seem locked into Zeller. Morris is much more of the stretch 3 that the team seems to want. The Hornet's depth provides a bit of protection should legal issues overtake Morris.
Chicago Out: Taj Gibson
Chicago In: Cody Zeller
Why? This is a move to get under the tax without sacrificing too much. Zeller could very well have the better long term potential.
Phoenix Out: Markieff Morris
Phoenix In: Taj Gibson, Brian Roberts
Why? Markieff wants out and Taj is as solid a replacement as they could wish for even if his skillset is a bit different. Brian Roberts is included to make the $ work and could be replaced by PJ Hairston, but Phoenix would use Roberts as a backup for additional PG depth.

Re: 2015-16 Fake Trade Thread
I would be very hesitant to trade Cody for Markieff.
It's not that I was a Nostradamus or something, it was pretty obvious for anyone, but today's headline backs me up with Markieff wanting to be out of PHX. Still saying, that they would consider a Marvin+PJ+2nd rounder pack. Markieff could get any minutes left behind MKG and Batum at 3 as well as running the second unit with Lin+Kaminsky/Hawes.

Morris could be quite a gamble due to his issues but he is certainly more talented than Marvin, so I'd deal that package for him easily. The bigger issue is with minutes. Frank + Cody + MM is too much at the 4, and I doubt Markieff gets many minutes behind MKG and Batum at the 3.
I continue to wait...and hope...for the return to Hornet's glory.

Yeah, he wouldn't get much minutes behind that two (max 5 mins, more only barring injury or fault problems), but I think we'll see Cody and Kaminsky in the 5 this year too. They must play some center, as only Hawes is a backup center right now behind AlJeff (who I think should play less per game). So even if they see themselves as PFs only, we'll see them in C too which frees up some minutes in PF too. Also: if Kaminsky will be less NBA-ready than must of us thought, now we'll have a D-League affiliate, am I right?
I would really try some small-ball in the second line-up, Lin-Lamb-Batum/MKG-Morris and Cody or Kaminsky at center, whichever is better suited for that band.

Re: 2015-16 Fake Trade Thread
Given that Markieff has asked out and is now a locker room malcontent I wouldn't offer more than Marvin and a 2nd for him and I don't even think I'd do that. Markieff is more talented than Marvin, but this is a team game. And I don't think adding a guy who will likely come off the bench into the mix when he's playing for a contract is a good idea, especially when you consider the large amount of roster turnover this team has already gone through.

Re: 2015-16 Fake Trade Thread
LofJ, Markieff is in a long contract.
http://hoopshype.com/salaries/phoenix_suns/
That's why I would be okay with him. He has a decent contract in this new era: 8 - 7,4 - 8 - 8,6 right till 2018/19. And we don't know the things behind the scenes with Markieff. Trading his brother is surely a big reason, but there could be others. If it's not entirely his fault, I don't think we should tag him as a "locker room cancer".

This dude is a nut case. He's a technical foul machine, he's got a felony charge dangling in his face, bitched forever when his brother got traded, and is going to raise hell in Phoenix if he isn't traded immediately. He also brings absolutely nothing that we don't already have. Thanks, but no thanks. Markieff Morris is a jackass.

Re: 2015-16 Fake Trade Thread
I'm not a big advocate of a trade for him: as you can see, I would only trade junk for him, but if you guys think he's too much to handle, well okay. Just an example: there was no problem with Stephen Jackson here, in spite of him being a well-known headcase. It's very much situational problem in many cases, but there's risk in a trade like this of course. It was just an idea

I think Utah would rather get a 10-day contract for a D-League player.
