Re: Suns Offseason Thread 4: Where's Terrence Williams?
Ilyasova and Morris have basically the same per 36 stats.
Benefit of Morris - Cheap long term contract, only 5 years in with possible improvement, decent defender, proven with our team.
Benefit of Ilyasova - No character issues, natural stretch 4, better O and D effeciency ratings, could improve with our system.
Basically it probably comes down to whether Markieff has x-factor to go to another level. If he doesn't you'd probably cash him in to get the same output for less drama.

That's probably how most teams actually see Kieff's value right now though.
It's really a double edge sword. You either keep Kieff and risk creating a toxic locker room (or keep him home and never allow his value to rebuild) or you trade him for the best deal you can find (probably trash).
That is not true, or they would not be talking about trying to get him. Markieff is fairly highly regarded around the league. Teams are just hoping to clean up on a "distress sale."
While I know Bleacher report is not the epitome of journalism, this article sees him as the #10 pf in the league right now. Its not that far-fetched. We only see Kieff. We do not see how few decent pf's there are in the league right now.
http://bleacherreport.com/articles/2396393-br-nba-200-ranking-the-top-power-forwards-of-2014-15-season/page/28
If this article is true, there are 20 teams where Kieff would be an upgrade over their present starter. Take away a few rookies with promise who would carry a premium and you might have as many as 10-15 teams that could potentially be interested.
McD just needs to wait. This moment is the absolute worst time to make a deal.

Gibson would be a sideways move but we'd have 4 elite defenders in our starting line up to play an up tempo game (GS, Houston prototype that has been successful).

because Goodwin and future firsts aren't trash?
Goodwin is far from trash.
McD thinks so too.
Apparently we still haven't learned about developing youth and giving away picks

Carlos Boozer is still unsigned. I have never been a fan of his even remotely, but he is a pure power forward and a good mid-range shooter and rebounder. He put up 12 points and 7 rebounds on 50% shooting last year in 24 minutes a game and played 71 games. If the Suns trade Markieff and do not get back a starting caliber power forward in return, Boozer could be a good stop-gap until the Suns are able to get a high quality power forward. Signing Boozer for a cheap one year deal also keeps next year's cap space available. Who knows, maybe putting Boozer on the Suns with a passing point guard like Bledsoe and a center like Chandler could revive Boozer's career.

I would be worried that his hair/paint would melt here in AZ.

Did I just read passing point guard like Bledsoe? Uhh. Ok. Also, Boozer is not good.

Bledsoe is not a selfish player and actually for Knight, Bledsoe is too unselfish. He is not a pass first PG but he plays as a playmaker.

Putting hair paint aside, if we did Frank's idea of moving Markieff for the rights to Saric, getting Boozer wouldn't be the worst idea. However, I would start Tele and bring Boozer off the bench.
Man AJ is going to go off if we get an older PF after losing Markieff.

I'm still a wait and see what is really going on with this situation kind of person. We still know very little and the info is still very conflicting. First no contact, then there was a meeting, he won't play for the team, then he will only show up for camp, not any earlier, etc.

Why does it seem that these one and done players rarely ever take an English course?

I wish these players would stop using twitter. The messages are so cryptic and can be interpreted so many different ways, it just fuels fire.

Re: Suns Offseason Thread 4: Where's Terrence Williams?
So, does anyone here think PJ could start for us at the 4? I ask for obvious reasons - it would give us the flexibility to lose Keef for a bench player a couple firsts and start PJ in his place. PJ is shorter than Draymond Green, but is otherwise a similar player (not as good a passer), so we could play similarly to the way Golden State does... if PJ can start at the 4.
Bled/[TBD]/Price
Knight/Goodwin/Booker
Warren/Weems
Tucker/Teletovic/Leuer
Chandler/Len/[TBD]
Small team, but lots of shooting. Thoughts?

Also Tucker is better rebounder I guess. I'd like that lineup.

Tucker should not be starting on a team contending for a playoff spot unless he's surrounded by all stars. Just my 2 cents.

Yes, I think it's our better lineup if we don't have Markieff. T.J. Warren can play a big role in this starting five and he can have space to operate in the lane.
I would bet that this is gonna be our starting five on the opening night.
