The Cbs are battling. 6 deep. It kind of reminds me of 08 like Manster said earlier in this post. That was the yr we signed Pac Man and drafted Jenks and Scandrick. I remember thinking these 3 paired with Newman and Henry- best set of CBs in the league. Well it didn't turn out that way. Hopefully these 6 will. White , Patmon, and Jones all intrigue me. Can't wait.

And - my pain goes back a couple of years prior... 1968... 12-2... just assumed as a 12 year old kid we were destined for Super Bowl III... only to be crushed in the 2nd half of the playoff game against the Browns... and the game being called when the fans hit the field at the end of the game.
Sadness filled my heart.
That was the first game Cowboys lost in their original royal blue uniforms. Never say that game but heard and read about it. Its just that Super Bowl V left such a bad taste in my mouth. All those missed opportunities early in the game and only ended up with field goals. Then a super crap T.D. by the Colts that was tipped. Knocked Unitas out of the game. Got robbed on a Manders fumble recovery. But aside all that misfortune, the great Doomsday I defense started the 4th period with an interception and gave Morton a 13 - 7 lead. Morton decided the throw the game away with 3 4th quarter interceptions.
All still vivid in my mind... and mercifully laid to waste the following year.

From what I read, it sounds like good competition in camp. Chuckled at Patmon and Dez getting into it. Sounds like Patmon wants to play. It's early... but I like that.

We need to be more feisty and nasty on defense. I love it.

I said it before and I will say it again. Without and anchor at DT to control the line of scrimmage and dominate the running game, it won't matter. They will al be toast in the passing game when we let scrub RB's impose their will on our defense and we consistently let them rush for 120yds, plus.

Re: Hoopla
Heard a couple of comments from the Hoop that the season is over. What garbage! Not over by a long shot. But - room for error is gone. Realistically... we needed one of these previous games to allow some wiggle room when Romo and Bryant return. With the meat of the schedule coming up, a little cushion would have been nice.
The second half of the schedule is very favorable even with the Packers on it. At this point, the next key game is the Giants. Don't see much hope against the Patriots as an improved Defense doesn't compensate for our weak offense with Weeden in charge. Not holding out much hope against the Seahawks either. I'm still not convinced the Giants are that good even though they are one Eli brain freeze from being 3-1.
I'm not fooled by that last Weeden drive last night either. That seemed like such an anomaly I can't even comprehend that happening again. My hope is that Cassel can be ready for the Giants game. We need a QB that can make a few plays. It's clear to me at this point that isn't Weeden.
Still plenty of hope. But there is zero room for error now.

Re: Hoopla
There isn't much hope currently on my end either. I've been bitching about DT for 6 years now. Still hasn't been addressed. I agree with you, Weeden sucks and needs to go. Time to groom Tony's replacement. I no longer have faith in Jason Garrett's ability to play call and make half time adjustments. Once again Sean Lee can't stay on the field, we don't have a RB that can step up and be the big cheese and for 7 years the injury bug seems to get the best of us. I call it Jerry KARMA.

Wow. Another thing I don't miss at all over at the hoop. Homo to Owens. That guys gets his female panties wet 3 times a week over petty crap. Oh well, what do you expect from a guy who watches love boat.

All those extra picks in the draft the past few years have turned up nothing at TE. Now Witten is over the hill and most likely will be our first hall of famer WITHOUT a ring. What a shame. This would not of happened to Witten under the Landry years. And I don't see this team in its current situation being a contender next year. So I think its over for him. Romo might get one more shot 2 years down the road if everything goes right, but that will be it for him. We need a replacements for both immediately along with a RB, DT and tons of LB's.

Wonder who thinks there is any meat left on the bone of this season over there at the ol' Hoop...
I'm sure someone is doing the math to make up some revisionist proposal that we can still win this sorry division and everyone else is just a bunch of negative ninnies who would be better off elsewhere.
Well - I'll agree with one thing. I'm better off elsewhere.

Was told there are still a couple of fans over there trying to cast sunshine on this dumpster fire of a season.
This team is one Eli brain-fart from being 1-8. This defense is God-Awful.

Re: Hoopla
I knew the season was doomed after we lost back to back games vs. Atlanta and New Orleans. I just didn't take the time to post it and except for you, there is no one here that really pays any attention to what I post. Three years ago, when I told everyone at Disney before going to the hoop, that it would be 7 years before the Cowboys were relevant again with everything going right. We are now almost done year four. I guess I was not as wrong as many said over at the hoop. I guess their judgment of me was clouded after most got upset with me when I stated Ware was over rated and a piece of crap. Except for the fact we have had a couple decent drafts the last 2 years, nothing has changed. Jerry won't stay away from daily football operations, the front office is still a mess, and has been since Jimmy left, we have no coach, Garrett is just a yes man for jerry, we have no depth because of the salary cap hell we have been in the previous 5 years and DT and Lb have yet to be addressed. Been posting relentlessly for 4 years on this matter.

Yes there are a few. Quite a few like Earl, UK and HomoTo Owens.

You can make numbers tell you anything you want them to. Hell- I do it at work all the time. But at some point you have to trust your eyes. The only thing worth debating right now is which team was the anomaly. The 2014 team or the 2015 team.
That and the impact of a locker room cancer.

More like the 2014 team without a RB and Still no DT and LB's.

Tyrone Crawford...
Yeah. That was a failed (so far) signing.
