Re: Suns Offseason Thread 4: Where's Terrence Williams?
I dont know about the rest of you guys but I am so sick of talking more about these players personal feelings and attitudes. We talk more about these players whining/demanding trades/talking smack than we do about their on the court play. But I guess this is the new generation of athletes and their false sense of importance.
I am such a lucky NBA fan. 8647 My favorite team went from the most greedy and racist owner to the most ego driven dumbass owner in all of sports fdt.

It's that time of the month again where everyone becomes a pessimistic bore. What do you expect?
Yea I wonder what the hell is wrong with these people. Nearly 50 years without a championship ring, and now what 6 straight years now I think without even sniffing one playoff series and multiple players and agents of this team bad mouthing the team publicly in the last two years and Suns being a laughing stock among NBA fans in general because of that. More than enough people on the GB think this Morris sisters thing is the Suns fault because of that.
Aren't we still a hot destination for superstars, why are fans here being so pessimistic? I mean LMA almost signed here!!! Just like we almost got Curry!! Isn't that what really counts??

Re: Suns Offseason Thread 4: Where's Terrence Williams?
To be fair, Aldridge is one of the only superstars that actually left his team and signed with another team in the prime of his career.
When you look at the 2015 All NBA teams, 13 of the 15 players are still on the teams that drafted them or the teams they were traded to entering this season.
Curry and Thompson drafted by the Warriors. Lebron and Kyrie drafted by the Cavaliers. Davis drafted by the Pelicans. M. Gasol traded to the Grizzlies. Harden traded to the Rockets. Westbrook drafted by the Thunder. Paul traded to the Clippers. Cousins drafted by the Kings. Griffin and Jordan drafted by the Clippers. Duncan drafted by the Spurs.
Only Aldridge and P. Gasol are on teams now that they were not drafted by or traded to, and Gasol signed with a new team towards the end of his career. His prime was with the Grizzlies and then the Lakers when he was traded there. Also, of course Lebron did leave and go back to Cleveland but that is a unique situation. And the list of players I mentioned did not even include Durant, who obviously was drafted by the Thunder and is still on the team.
The point is that the best way to acquire a superstar is through the draft or a trade. Signing one is incredibly rare. When was the last time the Lakers or Knicks flat out signed a superstar? Shaquille O'neal in 1996? Those are the two biggest markets in the league. Besides Shaq, the Lakers got everyone through the draft or trade since 1996. And the Knicks got Carmelo through a trade. Amare signed there because the Suns would not pay him what he wanted. Btw, I still think Colangelo was the best at getting superstars and having him with the Suns would make them much better at getting a star. But the fact remains, it is so hard to sign a superstar away from his team. Hardly ever happens.

I want them to win at least one ring before my death. I guess it is too much to ask.
And I find it funny that people think we should be all happy and jolly as if we have accomplished great things. In that recent thread on if your fanbase is optimistic or pessimistic on GB, Warriors fans were saying that their fanbase is pessimistic even despite winning the ring.....so the team that just won a crap load of games and the eventual championship and maybe the 2nd best player on the planet as well as a second superstar and the best role players in the league has a fanbase that's not exactly super optimistic and yet the Phoenix Suns fans should be?

Re: Suns Offseason Thread 4: Where's Terrence Williams?
If the Warriors didn't rush into trading Lee already, we could have done something like
Lee to PHX, Kieff to CLE, Haywood + fillers to GSW.
CLE could have then renounced their rights to Thompson and Kieff would be their new backup 4.
I think the Cavs would have taken a chance on Queef at that price since they have the vets in place and LeBron to whoop Kieff's ass if he behaves out of line.

Mentioned before but...
Zeller for Morris straight up.
Morris + Tucker for Parsons, allows Mavs to salvage their reload.
Gives them Williams, Matthews, Tucker, Morris, Nowitski small ball.... That's pretty interesting.
Vonleh for Morris.
Mirotic is my target from the bulls and is very keen on getting him on the Suns too.

To all the people who slammed markeif props to you. You were right dude is a clueless ****. I wasn't a big fan of his or anything but figured he was adult enough to come in next year and do his job. Boy was I wrong. And his latest hissy fit really kills any trade value he had left. What an idiot.

Yes, at this point Markieff for Cody Zeller is a decent trade...good enough. Add the Cavs pick if need it.

It's Marcus' attitude and perspective of "I made it and you didn't, bow down to me" that really wedges a block between the fan and the athlete. Hard to be fully invested in a product when there's that much of a disconnect in realities.

Before Marcus came here, he wasn't like that.

I do fault McD for some of what happened the past 12 months. But with that said I don't take all the blame off of guys like Dragic and the Morris brothers... they all act like entitled brats. Communication could have been better but you know what this is a business and they need thicker skin. Where I think McD should be criticized is not identifying these guys as turds in the punch bowl and trading them before things blew up. Thats the biggest mistake.

He's not Miss Cleo. None of us foresaw both of those guys going to the media demanding a trade this past year. Just, unbelievable.

Markieff mentioned it, but how do we know they are telling the truth about communication? Seems like the generic fallback for players to say the team didn't communicate with them properly when things go bad.

LMAO.
Be mad at the GM who went double-down and stuck his neck out for a headcase who had red flags going back to his days at Kansas. The GM (with a straight face) called Dragic a bad seed while choosing to build around Markieff SIX MONTHS AGO. Some of us could see this coming from a mile away. Others (like yourself and other buffoons on here) unconditionally back a dysfunctional owner and front office who have no one to blame but themselves for the situation this laughing stock of a franchise currently finds themselves in.
