Now watch Gladbach fans get nuts about signing "experienced" defenders at Transfermarkt.de cause we lose at Dortmund.

I think my biggest surprise in this first half is that Fabian Johnson and Wendt are completely out of sync. I'd have figured that they at least would still have their chemistry from last season; but no, they seem more out of step than the parts of the pitch adapting to new players (Stindl-Xhaka, Drmic-Raffael).

Or Bayern...

They cant draw a team from the same country.

That was a fluke anyway. Neuer made his first howler in 4 years.

I think Favre is limited tactically. He can only play one way.

Johnson had about five practices with the team during the pre-season thanks to playing in that Gold Cup.

Anyways, we're non-existant today and are just running next to our opponents without ever getting close to the ball. I guess possession's about 90-10 for Dortmund.

Well, he's not Labbaddia, that's for sure.
And we're actually able to play counter attacking or possession football, but yeah...

 Yeah, that's probably the best way to admit that you have no clue what you're talking about.

And it's surprising how regularly BMG are able to get fluke results against Bayern.

Makes sense, but I would've thought there would be more chemistry carried over from last season where they complimented each other wonderfully.

And yeah, just since I started following you you've played on the break, in possession, you've defended deeply and pressed high up the pitch (though this is a tactic Favre doesn't use as often). Coaches don't get more tactically diverse than Favre, Tuchel and Streich.

Cgf:

We'll see how he does in the CL. I just dont see him as the tactical master that most people on this forum and people in Germany do. Even heard some say he could replace Guardiola in Bayern. Dont think he can manage a proper big club. Gladbach is his level.

That's your opinion and all, but it's one that has no bases in what Favre's shown/accomplished. He's outcoached everyone in germany in his time with BMG.

And there's #4. Hope Schulz and Christensen can put this game behind them cause they are having a horrific match.

Favre almost coached us to a title and his team sucked on paper. He took over a bad Gladbach team and coached them to the CL.

Yup, clearly a bad coach after this game.

This is the most impressive performance of match day one imo

Holy hell a BMG half-chance. That was unexpected.

Schmelzer really does look like a completely different player, his passing, crossing, and the way he receives/handles the ball are just on such a differently level than what he has ever showed previously in his career. Tuchel really seems to have worked a minor miracle on that front. If this holds up our NT has solved its LB dilemma.

Also gotta throw some love Auba's way for the way he's developed his technical abilities since coming to the BuLi. He's regularly playing passes that I would have never thought he would be capable of when he arrived in germany, and his touch is just deft now.

Miki will get a lot of well earned love for this match, as will Ilkay, but the way Auba and Schmelzer have developed technically just astounds me.

E: lol and there's Xhaka's card.
