The first 3ish innings felt like a struggle, then Price was flat out dominant.

Yes, Price was great after the 3rd inning. Why they would have pulled him going into the 8th, I'm still not sure.

It's pretty much a 50-50 call that went against us last night, not the end of the world.

Gibbons could have pulled price and brought in a reliever and been right, he could have left Price out there and also been right. This **** happens sometimes.

I don't think it's a black and white as the OP is making it out to be.

As for the 8 man bullpen and only using a few guys consistently, they've all slotted in to roles lately and that's when they've pitched. There hasn't been a situation lately to use the long relief arms.

Yeah exactly. My only argument is how I personally felt going into the 8th, but that's hardly ammo worth questioning Gibby.

I love how people will ignore the 11 game winning streak, because that had NOTHING to do with Gibbons. But are willing to fire him because of 1 loss, in which he MAY have made a questionable decision. And that decision was leaving one of the better pitchers in baseball in the game after he looked great for 4 straight innings.

People baffle me.

Well, baseball was developed by government scientists in the 1850s specifically for the purpose of provoking histrionic reactions from people with poor impulse control, so it makes sense when you think about it.

What? It was in the director's cut of Ken Burns' Baseball.

Who said anything about firing Gibby? Just saying he made a mistake and it cost us (even he agreed).

8th inning, pennant race, your set up guy and reliever arent burnt you put them out.

And if the bullpen had a rare mental lapse and coughs up the game you'd all be yelling how can you take your Ace out. You get an Ace like Price, you give him the chance to go as long as possible. That's what Ace's are for. We're not talking about the fifth starter for christ sake.

It's a 50-50 call at best, not a clear cut decision like some of you are acting like here.
