Pek is basically Aryan Al Jefferson so it's a no-brainer for the Hornets.

Cavs fan here. Zeller and Batum for TT in a S&T. TT is the perfect fit next to Frank and/or Hawes.

Seriously, Zeller is a more complete player than Thompson, and isn't going to be on a (Please Use More Appropriate Word) contract, and then you want us to add in Batum? LOL. You really didn't think this through.

If you think Zeller is better than TT, then we have a serious difference in opinion right from the jump. As far as Batum, I thought a locked up TT might be of more value than Batum who started talking about signing elsewhere five minutes after being traded. I mean how much is Charlotte going to pay Batum when MKG is presumably getting ready for an extension?

Thompson is elite at rebounding, but take LeBron away from Thompson- is Thompson even average at anything else at all? Zeller has the tools to be a much more complete player, who certainly suits us better. We didn't even retain Biyombo at $3M a year, do you really think we'd give up two of our top 5 players to get a version of Biyombo that's 5-6 times as expensive and doesn't defend as well? I wouldn't pay Thompson $12M a year to come here for free, and I certainly wouldn't trade really good value for the opportunity to do it.
Give Batum and MKG a couple years together, I think that could be a top 5 wing duo in the league- and maybe the best defensive one out there. I'd pay a lot to keep them together.

TT's PNR defense is 100X better than Bismack. TT can switch on most guards in the league. TT's offensive rebounding require other teams to account for him on that end of the floor. If you don't like TT's game, then this is a nonstarter.

100x is a stretch, overall he's definitely not a better defender.
MKG is probably the premier offensive rebounding non-big man in the league, Al is a plus rebounder, Batum can board, even Kemba grabs way more rebounds than a guy of his size should. Thompson isn't a necessity like shooting is for us.
We certainly don't need more defensive attention in the paint. We need perimeter threats (Zeller is reportedly adding a 3 ball this summer and already had good touch from 18 feet, and Batum makes almost 2 threes a game) so that guys like Kemba and MKG can drive into the paint and so that Al has enough room to operate in the paint. Thompson compounds our issue by being a non-factor on the perimeter.
Thompson trades are a non-starter IMO.

I was looking at TT starting next to Frank and playing alongside Hawes in terms of fit. You seem to be much more concerned about how he would fit next to Big Al who I assumed was done in Charlotte after this year.

I find Cody to be the better fit next to Frank as well. Cody's a plus defender who has the size to play center. Neither will be a top flight rebounder, but we have two of the top 5 rebounding wings the league has to offer, so I'm really not that worried about the rebounding moving past next season.

I'd like to have Tristan on this team, but not at his likely salary cap hit. I definitely hope we go after a big that can defend and rebound next offseason, but at a reasonable cost.
Edit: there was a rumor before the 2011 draft that we wanted TT, but Cleveland took him sooner than he was projected to be drafted.

We would've probably let him walk too.

For what his agent is wanting Id gladly let him walk right now.

Re: 2015-16 Fake Trade Thread
Thompson is by far the better rebounder between him and Zeller, and hes the better player right now.
But its pretty close in my opinion. In 2 years when Zeller is 24 he could very well, and probably will be better than Thompson. No one gave two nickels about Thompson until Lebron came around and made him look good, like he does most of everyone else.
Zeller is the better perimeter defender, and has a higher basketball IQ. Better athlete as well. To the Cavs fan wanting Zeller AND Batum?

The thought of Thompson getting a max contract makes me nauseous.

In any event Batum can't be traded with another player for a few months yet anyway.
My picks:
2020 Draft (3rd pick) - Tyrese Haliburton, Devin Vassell, or Onyeka Okongwu
2021 Draft (11th pick) - Moses Moody

Me too, but he wouldn't get the same exposure in our system that he gets playing with LeBron in Cleveland. I'd pass on him at anything higher than $10M. With our current roster, I'd only take him that cheap because he'd be a trade asset. Obviously wouldn't be interested in swapping him for Zeller or Batum.
