Ben looks even bigger in those clips.

Game 2 video. Seems to be impressing with his excellent finishing with both hands.

Worth noting Sydney were without their main players, Josh Childress and Celtics rookie Marcus Thornton, as well as another key Australian player, but they're still a step up from their Game 1 opponent.

There's a few games left to play, including one that I'm going to on Saturday, we're I'll be able to give a bit more insight.

Finished the game with a near quadruple double - 10 turnovers :)
18p, 12r. 8st, 5a and 3b. Sat pretty much the entire 3rd period

That's a crazy stat-line (in the unusual sense). It really appears as though LSU are going to give him the usage as a play-maker, for better or worse. I think it'll take a period of adjustment for him to get the TO's down at this level, but he definitely has potential as a ball handler and play-maker. Nice to see him finally dominate a game on the boards as well, and 8 steals is insane.

Not to mention at least two blocks weren't counted due to fouls from his teammates

People on here saying he's "stiff" are out of their minds

He's not Blake Griffin but he's athletic enough and far from stiff

He's similar to Odom - with his head on straight, a professional ball player for a father and from all accounts an outstanding work ethic

What Odom could've been with those things is one hell of a player.. and I think Ben is still a better natural talent

Game 3 highlights below. Got a game tomorrow and then another 2 days after that -

Absolutely dominating in the open court but the half court is still a question mark. I doubt we'll see a whole lot of that in these games but it'll be something to watch out for come college season.

Thats the Crazy part.. what is a Hard Working/Head On Straight Odom?

If Odom can average 17/8/5 at his best... and 13/8/4 for his career.. mostly relying on his talent..

and Ben seems to be a hard working kid and seems to be even a bit more talented than young Odom..

I keep saying i can see a career statline of pre injury Grant Hill... 21/7/5 for Ben in the best case.

This is a better clip. And for those who are saying his jumper is broke, looks pretty good here. Something he needs to continue to work on, sure, but it's far from bad.

Game 3 Stat-Line - 18 points on 8/10 shooting, 8 rebounds, 7 assists, 5 steals and a block.

I'll update this post with footage when it's available, but from the box score it's good to see him have a) A very efficient game and b) Limit the TO's. Worth noting he played his toughest opponent so far today as well, Melbourne United, who had both their imports and a few other Aussie talents.

His half court offense looks yikes. and he still looks like a stiff. His transition game is amazing and so is his passing, but his half court offense isn't looking good at all. He lacks an explosive first step and if he isn't taking tough or long jumpers (at least in that video) then he's pretty much charging into the defense in a straight line. That's simply not going to work in the league, it might work in college. Either he's going to have to improve his handles or improve his jumper a lot to make up for the lack of agility because his half court offense is an eyesore right now

Bird would have won 4 rings with that team, in this weak ass era of basketball.

Can I ask what looks so bad about his half court offense, other than the lack of half court points in his 'highlights' video?

I agree that he needs to improve his half court offense, but I just wonder how you took anything away from that clip.

I'm confused about the 'stiff/lacks agility' comments as well. I'm interested to know if you, as well as the others who share this view, perceive him as a SF, because that's clearly true compared to NBA SF's, but it seems clear to me at least that he's a PF, in which case he's a great mover and well above average athletically.

He's a big 6'10 with a growing frame. This isn't a Greek Freak scenario where he's just an extraordinarily tall/long guard - it's possible to be a PF while still possessing the skill-set Simmons does, at least in my view.

Update that to 18p (80%), 8r , 7a , 5s , 1b with 3 to's.

Oh and no signs of any stiffness from my eyes , Simmons aint no euro wannabe!
