So?

Perhaps avoiding a Hutchison road start and then bringing him back in a week and a half or so?

I don't get Carrera over Pompey though, but Dalton might be hurt.

So they don't want to play him away? At least let him redeem himself for one game.

Pompey is injured apparently.

I like it. I rather have Dickey pitching on the road on Sunday, simple decision. Making use of the off days.

He will be back soon.

Makes sense from a roster and scheduling standpoint. Let's just hope that this doesn't mess with Hutch's confidence though.

Not sure i like it. He's finally pitching well, and this could mess with his confidence.

I like it. We have plenty of rest days coming up, and this gives him a chance to pitch instead of just being skipped in the order.

Likely just a way to use the off days to give the other four starters more starts on the road. After two good starts I would have let him face the Angels (who are struggling offensively) at least, but I can't complain with giving more starts to Price, Dickey, Buehrle, and Estrada on a road trip given Hutchison's terrible road performance season (FIP well over 5.00 on the road).

This is a move made by a team trying to win their division. Baseball is often about numbers and percentage and since every game now counts being proactive and taking away a guys weakness is important. Something I learned in Franchise mode of MLB Show 2015. :-)

It makes total sense, we didn't trade 6 years of Daniel Norris so we can use Price once a week, he needs to be out there as much as humanly possible.

so Carrera who's a lefty bat and terrible in the OF is going to be our 4th outfielder... why. Better options out there

AA's goal is to make Price's arm fall off before the season ends cause in all likelihood he won't be a jay next year

Blah.

So we've got Hutch rolling and we're gonna mess with his head and ship him to the minors? All to bring up replacement level players? I tell ya, AA's been scrambling ever since his monumentally stupid decision to get rid of Valencia. You want a confident Hutchison (who we are going to need) and Valencia on this team, or Pennington, Hague, and Carerra?

These are not the moves you should be making after adding such a significant upgrade to our top-end talent. Confidence should be at an all-time high. And yet we decide to meddle around with our opening day starter and peripheral players? It smacks of insecurity and desperation. Way too cute by half. Besides which, we've become a weaker team, talent-wise, in the process.

Relax, he's only going down for a start because they don't need a fifth starter and they're going to play in the NL so they need a bigger bench. If he can't handle going down for a week then he shouldn't be in the big leagues in the first place.

Price started Friday. His next start isn't until this Friday and then next start the following Thursday. Three off days in the next 2 weeks for the Jays. We shouldn't get into making a pitcher's arm fall off until the end of the season, if needed. Which is something most teams end up doing anyways.

Carrera isn't the ideal 4th OF. Can't run and can't play defense. He's also a lefty bat, so we can't really use him to pinch hit for Revere in a lefty on lefty situation. But with Pompey dealing with a foot injury, it doesn't seem like we have anyone else.

This move takes into account Hutch's overall performance this year over his recent success in his last two starts.

Personally, I would have kept him for 1 more start just because of the recent success. But then again, I am not in the clubhouse and cannot assess whether he has 'turned the corner' or not.

If he's that fragile and affected at all by this, he shouldn't be pitching in September for this team anyway. Instead, he should use it as fuel. In the end, he brought this on himself by completely sucking on the road (9.00 ERA, 5.42 FIP) for 4 months.

I thought that starting Hutch vs the Yanks was a huge mistake. I still think it was but glad it did not backfire.

Had we sent him down yet this year, or does this burn an option year?

If Pompey wasn't hurt I'm sure he'd be up. I don't know what scares me more in the OF - what I have seen from Carrera or the fact Revere looks terrified of catching fly balls (much like former Jay Bonafacio).
