Apparently the Knicks have interest in bringing Crawford back + the Cavs still have interest in him as well. Not sure who would be outgoing from the Knicks in such a trade though.

Good.

Now express Cleanthony Early to the Clippers and you can have him.

He know something we don't or has he finally resigned himself to accepting his new role on the team?

Crawford to New York just doesn't work out. The only salary that the Knicks can send to match Crawford's is Calderon, and we have no need of a guy like him, much less with two years left on his contract. And even then, we'd have to include Wilcox to make the trade work. Unless the Knicks can send Calderon to a third team and find something useful for us, that rumor has no legs.

Yeah no way would we take on Calderon's contract. I'm okay with moving Jamal for something useful that doesn't hurt our flexibility, this just isn't it.

Knicks fan wonderingwho your current backup pg is? Calderon would make a good match with Lance off the bench and expires the same time as Blake and Paul. Early you can have, don't believethat would be a problem.

austin rivers will technically play the position but lance will be the primary off the bench distributor. after him is prigioni.

Team doesn't need to add any more no defense players. The bench has enough playmakers with Lance, Smith, possibly Pierce depending on how Doc sets up the lineups, and maybe Crawford. Rivers' role off the bench is defense and attack the basket here and there, the bench doesn't need any "real" PG.

Calderon expiring with Paul and Griffin doesn't help the team. What is desired is the flexibility to be players in the FA market next off-season if needed, and that flexibility will only be given up for a good player, not for a backup PG when you already have 3 PG's on the roster.

I actually love the fit with Lance on paper, and like Calderon as a player more than most, but not when you already have 3 PG's and 4 SG's, while the SF and C don't have a reliable back up. Roster spots and trade assets need to go somewhere else, the ideal thing would be to trade Crawford for a backup big, not for another backcourt player even if he's a slight upgrade over what you have. Now if Early/Wilcox is included in the trade, it might be a bit more appealing, but still leaves you with 6 backcourt guys that are gonna want minutes and only 4 frontcourt guys you'd ideally want to play.
