Well, if trends hold up and Dave Dombrowski does what he usually does when he steps into a new franchise: the Sawx will be managed by Jim Leyland by next April, go to the 2016 World Series, then he'll completely blow up the team and be the bridesmaid for about 4-6 years until the owner figures out what the hell is going on.

Coors Field is a joke but its nice to finally get a W and score some runs. Maybe moving Jayson Werth and his sub .200 BA to leadoff will spark us.

Too bad the useless Os couldn't beat the Mets.

So, Chase Utley is pretty much a Dodger now.

Shut it down, San Francisco.

things could get awkward if Utley keeps hitting.

I'm beyond curious to know what kind of numbers he would put up as a full time hitter...

He'd be current Brian McCann probably.

You guys have Chase Utley in your Hall of Fame or Hall of Very Good?

Saw a debate about it going on another forum.

Why is this conversation only coming up after he's being traded to the Dodgers?

http://www.fangraphs.com/blogs/the-reason-to-believe-in-chase-utley/
There are three reasons to be interested in Chase Utley as a baseball player. One, there’s his whole history. Utley’s track record of being one of the best second basemen in baseball. If his career ended today, he’d be a borderline Hall-of-Famer. Two, he’s available. The Giants are reportedly in negotiations, with the Phillies looking to keep getting younger. If you want Utley, you can have him, provided you give a little something, and provided Utley is open to the chance.

Came up there in an August 12th Fangraphs article about him.

Care to just answer the question or not bother at all?
Thanks in advance.

unless kendricks injury is more severe than thought, dodgers seemed to have the least need for utley of the 3 interested teams. also considering **** hernandez has been great for them at 2nd

imo they just got him to keep him away from the giants.

Someone want to give me the scoop on Marlon Byrd? He's got some pop (19 hr's) but batting numbers otherwise are pretty abysmal. Still think we need to put a higher priority on our reliever situation though.

From 05-09 there wasn't a better all-around second baseman in the game. That said, he only played 140+ games in a season from 10-14 once, and I'm not sure he's got enough to carry him in.

Fantastic player when he was healthy, but he's hardly been healthy the last six years. I have a feeling he'll be this era's Don Mattingly when it comes to the HoF.
