Re: 2015-16 Hornets Schedule
We have the fewest number of back to backs where the second game is on the road on our schedule of any other team. There are teams with twice as many back to back road games.

attention slam: new year's day and april 5th. don't go to Oz during those times and, if possible, spare your liver in the days leading up.

I'm afraid this is going to be a rough year. I can definitely see Cho/Cliff pushing for a panic trade by mid-season if we start slow and don't drag ourselves back into the playoff race quickly.

It depends on whether we see healthy Al Jefferson or we get Fat Albert again. There's no doubt that the front office is pushing for the playoffs, and as long as we're healthy and our lack of interior defense isn't crippling we should make it. This is easily the most offensively talented team we've had since the original Hornets days.

Make or break season for them with their heads on the chopping block. It's the last year of Cliff's contract.

Re: 2015-16 Hornets Schedule
I'm optimistic about this season. The only thing we lack is a rim protector (thanks Clifford
) we have good depth at point, two elite perimeter defenders, two bigs with great court vision, a guy that can score in the post, and for the first time since the old Hornets we actually have more than one big that is a threat from the perimeter. Thankfully, our defense is also designed to prevent penetration to the basket so our lack of a rim protector and Al's struggles doing anything outside of the paint are minimized.
Teams with two bigs that can score will be our kryptonite, but there are only a few teams in the league that meet that description. Atlanta, Miami, Cleveland, San Antonio, Oklahoma City, and maybe Utah are the only teams that come to mind.

This is a bad division to lack rim protecting bigs in... Atlanta has Horford, Millsap, and Splitter, along with that 7'3 Tavares guy who's supposed to be good. Miami has Chris Bosh and Hassan Whiteside (and McRoberts if he returns to form), Washington has Nene and Gortat, and Orlando has Vucevic. If Al is in 2013-14 form, we'll manage, but those guys will kill us if we get Fat Albert again.

Re: 2015-16 Hornets Schedule
Last season we were third best in opponent FG% within 5 feet. The year before we were fifth best.
I'm not real worried about our post defense.

I think I'm in NYC for New Years Eve but April 5 could look good for a drive down the 401.
Be outstanding to see you again.

I might be able to rope in one of the editors of At The Hive who lives in the city for an outing like that. he's a good dude, and he might actually be a larger human than you if you can believe it.

Re: 2015-16 Hornets Schedule
Here is our first ten games of the season:
10/28: @MIA
10/30: @ATL
11/1: ATL
11/3: CHI
11/5: @DAL
11/7: @SAS
11/10: @MIN
11/11: NYK
11/13: @CHI
11/15: POR
That is not an easy slate of opening games, but it's a good opportunity for us to get a sense of where this team is at. There's only one back to back in our first 10 games, but there's also only one game where we have more than a day off, so we aren't going to have much practice time to make tweaks in November.
Will be interesting to see what ATL looks like this season.

Re: 2015-16 Hornets Schedule
With such a tough schedule, a 4-6 record would be a good start. The seven games in the second half of November offer more opportunity.
First time poster here. I live down east. We do not get any television coverage in this part of the state, unfortunately. I may have to shell out for NBA League Pass once again.

MIN and POR should be easy wins. We're lucky to get Dallas so soon, because half their team is injured. NY probably should be easy picking as well. We could split the Atlanta home-and-home, and split with a limited Chicago team. We'll probably have at least one WTF loss in there or one WTF win, so I'm guessing 5-5. Wins: ATL, CHI, @DAL, @MIN, @NY, Losses: @MIA, @ATL, @SAS, @CHI, POR (our WTF loss)
