He's been playing injured most of the season and people will say that Navarro shouldn't be catching today because of so and so. Now Martin tweaks something again like he has several other times this season and they wanted Navarro to catch tonight instead.

Seriously. I know I've missed parts of a few games, but the transition from "Gibby is an idiot because he doesn't start Martin at every turn" into "Gibby is an idiot because he starts Martin too much" was near-instantaneous.

I can't speak for others obviously but I can very comfortably say that I would rather the Jays start Martin over Navarro most days. However, when I watch Martin basically walking to 1B on anything that is hit in the infield. Watching him hit .100 and having a sub .200 OBP over a three week period that is associated with that decline in his mobility I have to question throwing him out there on a regular basis.

Defensively he's fine and while this is clearly just a pulled muscle in his leg so it might not even heal with time off, but I would certainly be looking to find ways to give him a few extra off days to work more on physio/massage to try and work it out. I don't think I'm being selectively biased in that assessment. If healthy, I want Martin starting most days. If he's not, I don't.
