Yeah and his max that year would be 25.7 mill/yr, not 20 mill like Millsap.

Horford is absolutely worth that amount

Yeah i hope we can sign him next year. He's a great fit. Though i think Hawks match. Obviously theres Durant too. If we somehow make the play offs he might be interested. Probably still not though.
Another FA i like is John Henson. Who i think can be a nice fit as well. Can play alongside Vuc and Harris, and compliment them well. We desperatley need some rim protection. The question is... How much will it take? 15 mill/yr? Maybe offer Fournier+Dedmon before the trade deadline? Do you think that's a fair trade?

Yeah, I like Henson as well. He's looked good when given the minutes and I loved his play in the post-season against Gasol and Noah.

Last I heard was that Milwaukee was closing in on an extension but I don't know where that stands right now.

i dont think he is. Ive seen other players drag their teams into playoffs, into playoff series wins. Horford more often than not shrinks from the spotlight. Look at the Cleveland series, 11/4 when they could have used him the most.

He is good help defense, but not great. He has a good offensive game, but isnt a great offensive threat. For all this talk about his great mid-range game, he shoots 45% from 3ft to inside the 3 pt line. It's decent, but that isnt great to me.

i'd be worried it would be Grant Hill all over again. Horford is always injured and missing big chunks of the season.

if he were guaranteed to be healthy then i'd absolutely give him the money even though all i see him as is a complimentary big man to Vuc. Horford would take us straight into the playoffs and possibly on a deep run just from his veteran presence. even if he shies away in the big games, it doesn't matter because we don't want him to be our go to guy. i'd just like him as the guy who puts the stamp on us that we're legit, until one of our young studs eclipses him.

That's my fear as well. Two pectoral injuries is serious business. That said, Horford is coming off a full season and he's looked great. I'm at least intrigued by the possibility.

Horford will be 30 years old next summer. Will be interesting to see if he loses a step between last season and this one. If he does, then I sure would not want to waste max money on him. He probably resigns with Atlanta.
