Here's a sample of what the Jubilee Project does:

What most impressed me is the way they integrated music into these vids for charities. Like the sudden pause and silence in the first one when she takes off the headphones, or the lyrics in the 2nd tearjerker one. They really do bring a sense of artistry and emotion into these videos promoting charities.

I believe Jeremy made films with them on 3 or 4 occasions over the years for different charity causes and organizations.

According to NBA Analytics, the worst shot to take is the midrange (long two-pointers). Only a few players have a good enough efficiency from mid-range to continue taking the shot (Dirk Nowitski, Michael Jordan).

The best shots to take are 3-pointers and drives to the basket. Layups may get your shot blocked more often, but it's more effective in getting foul calls and fouling players out -- and thus making the defenders play softer if they have alot of fouls.

This is according to basketball Analytics, which I believe Rich Cho is an expert in.

So about this Jubilee Project conference that JLin is speaking at this weekend...I hadn't realized how big they've grown over the years. One of their recent vids from earlier this year has close to 20 million hits in just half a year (it's in support of a book about love with proceeds going to poverty in Africa).

The Kemba vs Lin thread has been locked. Do not try to continue that conversation in this thread. Do not try to backseat mod in this thread. If you have a problem, report the post.

There seem to be some youtube clips floating around on twitter from JLin's speech this weekend at the Jubilee Project conference. The audio and quality may not be the best, since it seems to be a fan-made recording from someone in the audience, but it does have some interesting nuggets.

The Facebook Q&A is a reverse Q&A. He's the one asking questions (like what's your favorite movie? or what are fun things to do in Charlotte?) and fans are answering, not the other way around. Hilarious

http://bballbreakdown.com/2015/08/21/can-jeremy-lin-bring-linsanity-to-charlotte/

I found this article on bballbreakdown to be pretty interesting.

tl;dr not a savior but should be a valuable piece for the Hornets.

Linsanity may be a thing of the past, but Lin is still a plenty capable rotation floor general. Snagging him for a paltry $2 million per year, especially with salaries across the league ballooning due to the sharply rising salary cap, was one of the offseason’s biggest steals. So long as Clifford allows Lin to play to his strengths—and, to date, there’s nothing suggesting he won’t—the Harvard product should have little trouble putting his disappointing 2014-15 campaign behind him and establishing himself as a valuable piece for a playoff contender.

Another unbiased article.

Earlier this off-season, Charlotte was able to sign 27-year-old Jeremy Lin, who was an unrestricted free agent after his sole disastrous season with the Lakers.

Coming off a disappointing season that further pushed his critics to believe that his Linsanity stint in 2012 was a fluke, the former Harvard standout is expected to help out Hornets star Kemba Walker in both scoring and facilitating.

Or is it the other way around?

According to a report by YIBADA, a new report indicates that Charlotte's front office is contemplating on the idea. While Lin's play has been declining the past three seasons, he is still an above average player, averaging almost 15 points and 5 assists a game.

In the report by Baseline Buzz, Walker could be seen as an explosive backup guard who would dominate the opposing teams' secondary units. Meanwhile, Lin would be the one to start the game and facilitate on offense, boosting the offensive rhythm of the team.

Lin will be the savior. Linsanity II will begin. Charlotte makes the playoff. Hornets fans will make poster-sized fan signs and bring them to the games.

Then next offseason, Lakers will offer Lin a poison-pill contract.

The guy cites a YIBADA article (which I have read) and it is hardly a credible/unbiased source.

I think fans of the Hornets and the various players on the roster should just wait and see how preseason goes to get a taste of whats to come. Until the regular season officially starts there is no telling how things are going to play out, but I will go out on a limb and say, the Hornets have built a pretty nice roster for the upcoming season and it will be a lot of fun to watch this team go out and compete.

I just came back from a pleasant two week vacation and I see a lot has changed since the last time I was here. JuanCesta along with another troll have done a fine job at messing with people's head. Are people that gullible to argue with obvious trolls or do you think maybe they secretly enjoy the confrontations?

Article from interview with JLin's shooting coach Doc Scheppler.

http://hoopshabit.com/2015/08/31/exclusive-interview-with-jeremy-lins-shooting-coach-doc-scheppler/

Obviously from the perspective of Jeremy's friend and partisan, and not necessarily reflective of Jeremy's own views. But I thought it had some interesting information bits in there. It seems they've found a key facet that may have contributed to the "fatigue" element that's been a problem for Lin in the past, especially in back to back games. They felt he was becoming overly fatigued due to putting too much energy into his legs during the jumpshots, and worked to fix that this summer, along with a quicker release.

From that article:

Scheppler is confident that Lin fans will see a much-improved shooter this year, both because of Clifford’s uptempo style, and the two months the shooting coach spent with him this summer.

"Clifford's uptempo style"

Charlotte fans sure would like to see that too.

Scheppler tempered expectations for Lin fans this year by saying, “Will we see Linsanity? No. But we’ll see a Jeremy who can be a very productive player for 30 minutes a night. I just want him to be happy.”

If expecting 30 MPG is tempered expectations...oh boy.

No idea who Doc Scheppler is, but he obviously has never watched a Clifford coached team.
