Oladipo hinting at playing for LA/LAC?
https://youtu.be/pJmki8xrOrg
Watch at the 3 minute mark. I'm not knowledgeable on his contract situation but won't his rookie deal be up next summer? That would be kinda eerie considering he'd like to stay in LA a little "longer" next summer.. I don't know, this interview has me feeling uncertain

we only control 1 year of it.
but i dont believe he is specifically looking to go to LA. people misconstrue most of what players say during interviews.

OMG Oladipo once said he likes Greece! He's going to play for Olympiakos! It's basically confirmed because he likes Greece.

I am not sure about that, but he is from Maryland so it's certain he'll be joining Durant on the Wizard in the near future.

He's not a center. We have nothing to worry about. /greenfont
Seriously, just because a person says they like the 2nd biggest city in the country doesn't mean they have their bags packed.

Oladipo hinting at playing for LA/LAC?
I'm more concerned about his desire to improve his work-life balance and socialize more.

Its not too much the fact he likes Los Angeles, its HOW his expressions came across after saying it. God damn people can't any of you contribute to the post in a constructive way instead of the green font, smart ass response garbage we see on here all time

Even based on what he said and how he said it... it's such a ridiculous conclusion to jump to that it really doesn't deserve much more. Plus it's already been discussed in another thread.

Eh kinda a non issue. Can't blame the guy for not wanting to spend his offseason in Orlando.. If I was a multi millionaire id spend my free time elsewhere too.

try and relate to the players instead of jumping to wild conclusions. Have you never gone on vacation and thought "oh man this city is great! I want to come here all the time!" and have zero intention of moving there? Because I do all the time. I love New Orleans, but I wouldn't want to live there. Furthermore, players don't have to fall in love with the city they play in. They travel so much that they often have multiple homes.
Unless there's a rumor that Oladipo wants to play in L.A. or is demanding a trade, it's a non-story about Oladipo's very places to vacation in the offseason. He's a young guy (I presume single), it makes sense he would like L.A. Doesn't mean anything though.
Even if there is some shred of merit to it though, it's still at least two years away, if not several more (since we own his bird rights and he'd have to take the QO or demand a trade).

Much like Harris really loves New York. IT. DOESN'T. MATTER. Orlando is in control unless he opts out to become a UFA. What he is doing, shrewdly, is not unlike what Harris did... sowing the seeds of doubt so he has a stronger negotiating position.

Re: Oladipo hinting at playing for LA/LAC?
Boring interview. I think that people are reading into it waaay to much. Hennigan believes in interchangeable roster players and even if Vic wanted out we control his rights and him leaving wouldn't hurt to the degree of Howard or Shaq. The interchangeable parts/system is a good org philosophy so know matter how things go Orlando will still come out on top. I don't think Vic was downing Orlando in anyway. That said......could they have changed the battery in the fire alarm before taping?? Amatuers.....the chirping destroys the interview lol

Re: Oladipo hinting at playing for LA/LAC?
1. His contract is up the summer after next (2 years)
2. He will likely ink an extension after this season for 5 years, keeping him here for another 6 years after next season. If he doesn't and opts for free agency, he's restricted. Worst case scenario is in 2 years he signs his QO meaning he will be here for 3 more years from now. Given the spike in the cap, and the low income he has compared to what he will be eligible for, I put him opting for the QO at about 0.01% chance of happening.
Side note: if I had to pick 2 players on this team that would bolt for bigger markets, it would be Oladipo and Gordon. They have that type of Dwight personality. Also, AG is from California.
