I believe they are ratings done by experts without blinders, and that I correctly qualified what I wrote if you read it. I wrote about players who are reportedly on the roster bubble (via twitter, reports, common sense) that also have bad grades.

I'm not understanding your point, as you are making a connection that isn't there. I gave the high grades and low grades of players that we all know to be on the roster bubble. That's my entire point.

I was talking about using PFF grading as a guide to who is on the bubble and who isn't and saying you should be careful letting it influence your thinking because saying Shelby Harris or Leon Orr make the team over Mayowa and Lumpkin are SUPER long shots. The PFF grade doesn't mean THAT much.

We're all happy with Menelik so far right?

How many posts will it take me saying the same thing for you to understand what you are saying is not correct and never happened?

For the 3rd and final time, and if you still don't get it I'm just going to assume you aren't reading at all, the players I listed were on the bubble. I said based on PFF's grades, here are who they might suggest to keep because they have high grades, and who they might cut based on low grades.

I really dont know how it can be any clearer

Haha I understand what you are saying, I just don't agree with who you are saying is on the bubble or the worthiness of PFF grading as a judge of that status.

Ok, so long as you understand those are two entirely different ideas, and that the people I used as bubble people are ones that are all far from guaranteed spots on the roster (or listed as players in danger by beat writers), and that I'm not saying that we should keep/cut these people specifically, that's fine

Well all those players aren't "far from guaranteed" and If "beat writers" are saying Mayowa is in danger then they aren't very good at their jobs. But yes, I understood what you were saying originally, just want to point out how skewed and incomplete a picture grading from PFF can give.

So are you saying Mayowa is a lock for the roster? What makes you think that?

I don't think he is a lock but he isn't on the bubble either. ight in the middle of those two. I think it comes down to whether we keep 4-5-6 DE and how those players are designated. If we keep 5 including Mack, I think the others are Tuck, Edwards, Mayowa and Wilson. We could very well keep 6 with Autry or Harris knowing that that Mack and Mayowa can play hybrid end/back in nickel and passing packages as they have in both preseason games.

In those scenerios, the lb position is also part of the decision. Lofton, Smith, Heeney and Armstrong all should make the team and Moore, Ball, Valles and Shirley seem to be fighting for the last spot/s. Ball Valles and Shirley could be sent to the practice squad. I think 2 of them will.

Still have a lot of time to see how this works itself out.

If you aren't a lock on the roster, then you are on the bubble... there's no inbetween. You are either competing for a spot, or you've clinched one. Mayowa clearly has not clinched one as evidenced by his work with the 2s consistently, albeit coming in for a few snaps with the 1st when situation dictates. But so has Autry, Lumpkin, and Harris.. so there's no real basis to thinking he's a lock for the roster.

He does have the KNJ connection going for him, and that he's been here. He's probably in position to make the roster as an edge rush specialist, but Harris has looked far better at that against weaker competition. If he's playing backer for us, it speaks volumes to the lack of talent we have at the position.

That is hilarious, There is absolutely an in between and he is in it as I have already explained. If we have 9 DEs on the roster and he is in the top 4-5 then he is between a lock and the bubble. Wilkins, Harris, Valles and Autry are all lower than him on the depth chart and they are the ones on the bubble. He playing with the starter when Tuck isn't in and plays with the ones in our nickel and pass rush 3-4 hybrid sets.

Harris and Autry have played with the ones as well. Are they on this newly created label of not a lock for the roster, but not on the bubble too?

It's not newly created, just the way it is but I guess it doesn't make sense arguing over approximate terms. Whatever label or level they are they are below Mayowa and closer to getting cut or sent to the PS then him.

Sounds like he's a lock for the roster. Even if he gets overtaken at either spot where he fills in, his ST role guarantees him a spot
