Re: 2015
Jesus christ. Leno's the only reason Leverkusen aren't already eliminated, pulled 2 sure goals out of the net last game and just saved Leverkusen's ass right there.

honest question here: why is leverkusen hated? yes, i know they're a "werksclub" and bayer puts money in it. but they've been around for quite some time now and i also don't see them paying big transfer fees a la wolfsburg. they have also been quite good in scouting and had to sell some really good players, like any other club would've to.
i just don't see all that much reason to hate them. maybe you can fill me in.
too many urkels on your team, that's why your wins low

The reason is they buy all the young top talents from across the country with Bayers money for bargain prices while their own youth is not very good.
Plus they ignore fair play...(maybe you saw that scene when Kiessling was down earlier) they just play on whenever someone is hurt but would be the first ones to complain if someone did that to them.
And of course that they have one of the least likeable managements in the league

Re: 2015
well, thanks for the replies.
while i didn't really know about the whole youth thing, i can't really agree with those other things. fair play isn't really a club cultrue thing. there maybe teams over the years that are more fair play than others, but i don't think the management or bayer itself would tell the team to don't care about fair play. the management part. well, i am split here. after all it is tante käthe, but then again, he has become really annoying over the years, so i give you guys that.
anyway, i am still rooting for leverkusen to make it to the champions league. if not for anything but, that i don't want to see those lazio "fans" in the CL.

Re: AW: 2015
Thats exactly what they do. The coaches tell them to ignore fair play. I've seen them ignoring opponent (or even own) players down often enough to say this without any doubt.
Its not really a major concern for me, though. Just a small thing that makes them a little less likeable.

This is the biggest thing for me. They are always at the forefront trying to find ways to be allowed to spend less and less on their own academy/youth teams, but are the absolute worst vultures when it comes to buying up the young prospects of the clubs who actually put care and energy into their academies. They are killing the clubs who are the lifeblood of this golden generation.
That they're the reason Gladbach didn't play CL last season and attract Lacazette for that campaign, or get to keep Kramer helps, but it is primarily just how much more egregious they are than any of the other big clubs when it comes to youth development in this country.

Bayer playing on when the opposition has a player go down is common knowledge, no? I'm pretty sure I even heard an english-speaking BuLi announcer mention.
