Im sick of NBA 2K's stupidity and cheating

I dont suck!! Thats why the computer cheats me.

My knicks are ranked as the 3rd best team in the league this season. I built the team for defense and its ranked 2nd in that category. This is the 3rd season and I should make the playoffs. Offense comes from the center and 2 guard. I run set plays out of the 2001 Lakers playbook.

And even if it was me or the team that sucked,... (and its not), the cpu cheats. I took some of the advise here and went to youtube for tips and look at some of these videos I found

I only found a few for 2k15 but they wasnt as in depth as these older ones.

Its maddening. So much for a relaxing game in some spare time. Its bad enough that rick rubio and the wolves, who is a lesser rated team, turns into the warriors. With rubio being curry in prime form. Hitting contested long range jump shots. Walking through my defense like they are a projected imagine. But then my guys are stupid and have no reaction time. Its hard enough to make a pass. But when my guy turns his freaking back. And has the ball bounce off his back, and to have the computer glide into the frame in a split second and take off like a fat kid riding a bicycle to the ice cream truck,... it makes you want to break things. Sometimes I push the jump button and I need an immediate reaction. Meaning jump now! Its like the command gets put into queue. And the priority in the queue is CPU moments. When the CPU finishes screwing me, then I get to jump.

I looked into some of the sliders you guys suggested. And im going to pump up my defensive and offensive awareness sliders. Hoping to make my guys be a little smarter. And im going to up my quickness hoping for better reaction time.

Bro im so pissed off that I even care this much. I just hate being cheated and now im obsessed with revenge. Its in my nature. Come to think of it maybe thats exactly the point.

What I hate especially is when I'm on the break, it's 3 vs 2 , the third one is running into the paint, and when I move the stick and press pass it will pass to the guy behind him or somewhere completely random.

but yeah computer is a cheating bastard and it feels scripted.

Another thing I hate is when im on the defensive side of a break and I want to switch to the man who's picking up speed in front of the break to try and make a play on the ball,... I end up getting switched to the trailer.

Or when a guy gets by on the perimeter and penetrates into the lane, I want to switch to the next closest guy to stop him, it switches to some other random player. And it happens so fast I dont realize it. So I end up running the random player out of bounds and ruin the whole defense. lol

Theres no rhyme of reason to switching. And as far as passing to random guys, I notice it happens WAY more in pressure situations. Like a break. Or time running down in a close game.

I have had situations where I want to pass to a guy standing right next to me to set up a play after I get a stop and cross half court. And it ends up getting passed to the guy who fell down on defense and is late coming into the play, whos still in the BACK COURT.

My only advise is do not play HOF level nor All Star lvel, they are unrealistic.

Just play professional level is nice enough.

My 3 biggest pet peeves are:

1) I'm on a 3&2 fast break and go to pass it to the cutting wing, instead of throwing over the defenders my players throws a line drive straight to the defender and I'm like WTF!!!!!
2) The CPU can grab a rebound over anyone. I can have the whole team going up for a rebound an the CPU for some odd reason jumps higher.
3) If I'm guarding a wing on the opposite side of the court and decide to slack off a little to put pressure in the key , CPU passes it to my man, for some GD reason (although my reaction was great) my man is always slow to get back.
Bonus) blocking shots, if your man isn't a good shot blocker when I hit the jump button I expect him to jump then, not 3 minutes later when the player already hits his shot and has trotted back up court. My man looks like Bargani swatting at the air for no damn reason.

Basketball games were always the worst sports games imo. Imo, they seem like the hardest to develop and program. You have a lot of guys freely moving around in a small area. Baseball and Football is more set. Soccer is more open. Hockey, while in a small area, isn't that bad since the sports involves lot of contact. While in basketball games, everybody is sort of just sliding around each other.

Everybody said 2K was better than Live, but as mostly an offline player, I enjoyed Live 09 and 10 on the 360. 2K on the Dreamcast. Live 05 on the PS2. I tried the new 2Ks, and they seem like the same games, but just better graphics. I have just come to accept they won't make a good basketball game for offline players, you should too, Kane.

For as long as they been making this game and charging 60 bucks how is it the computer is the same **** year after year? Has the computer been improved sense the game was the cheapest NBA game on PS2 at 29.99? This isnt realistic. They cheat. They dumb my guys down and make their guys super hyper. Their hands are always in the passing lane. If I block their shot the computers reaction time is in the blink of an eye to recover. While it takes seconds for my guys to recover from one move. No matter how much I adjust the defense sliders and help defense, my defense always collapses on drives leaving open shooters. If I recover fast enough to contest, in the blink of an eye they have the offensive rebound and score.

I jump up for a rebound and miss it. They get it. My guy has to recover from coming back down. Regain his composer. Regather to jump again. By the time this happens they have already scored and are back on defense. My guys are waiting for the imbound pass while my center is jumping back up to contest the shot they already made.

They just zig zag into the paint until the defense collapses. It loops like this until the shot clock is down to one. Where they do something spectacular AND draw the foul. It seems like the computers guys not only have better reaction time but they move better. My guys lumber around, get in my way, sometimes turn their back on passes resulting in turn overs. Passing can be impossible sometimes. I swear theres times where the ball goes in a different direction than I chose. And the computer is always there to steal it.

i gave up on sports video games long ago, last time i tried one for fun (amare melo tyson 54 win season) knicks were literally rated #1 team lmao they had JR smith at like a 86

That was really fun. Had a 42 pt game with fatboy Felton, and hit like 15 3's, and scored 54 pts with novakaine. Good times

Kane if you are using the Knicks you are going to get your head bashed in. I've been playing 2k for 16 years and I can't win with the Knicks...they are horrible, it's the first time in the history of the game that I couldn't use them... including the Frank Wiliams years.

That being said the computer cheats like F@%* this year!! That isn where you block their shot and it goes right back in their hand is disgusting...and the last second shot stuff is SUPER CHEESY. It's almost unplayable against the AI. You have to use some sliders.

It has the updated roster including Thanasis and all the rooks....in fact the whole league is up to date. I can't take all the credit someone on Operation Sports did all the heavy lifting and I just added a couple guys like Thanasis and Vujacic...its amazing and the Knicks are competitive. Give it a shot you will like it.

if oposing player beats your defender and gets into the paint and the only option to stop him is to block him by PF or C, when you press switch it looks like computer will switch to the one that has absolutely no chance to block him, so the guy that can actually block him is controled by a computer and he'll just watch him dunk on him or give him easy layup. He'll not even jump. I think I even saw them moving away (from Derick Rose) just to make sure they don't touch him

Actually they made the game even more broken this year by making it so that on the highest difficulty you have to be wide open or hit a perfect shot to not miss. I skipped 2k13 and 14 because I felt they were cheap before getting 15. I'm torrenting 2k16 before I buy it this year after that lackluster 2k15. I know what goes into game development and if they wanted to they could fix all of this (notice how sliders fix a ton of problems usually). They don't want to fix it because the people doing those microtransactions like the game nice and cheap.

I just play on Pro. Realistic enough and I can usually win which makes me happy but the games are still competitive. Anything after that and the game starts to go into "cheat" mode, where they won't call fouls on the cpu, you'll miss dunks for no reason, etc etc. I've always been happy playing on Pro Simulation.

i do work with the knicks. post ups with Melo and rain 3s with THJ and Calderon. HOF is challenging but still do able and whne I play on Pro, I just go for stat lines really. 20/10/10 with Melo is usually what Im aiming for

The delay could be your tv.
These games are made to be run at 60Hz.
If your tv is 120 or 240 there will be delay.
Check the options on the tv for a game mode, it will help with the delay.

How is basketball the hardest when NBA 2K is probably the best sports game next to FIFA usually and Madden is damn near unplayable if you want a realistic game?

And I played 2k offline for years. Adjust the sliders and you'll be fine. Hell actually just switch the mode to simulation in the settings and the game will play amazingly against the CPU.

only thing they keep adding in this 2k's is new player animations and stupid cut scenes. The gameplay keeps getting worse. (over the years they f**** up any chance of playing tough D). AI is as dumb as it ever was, only difference is it cheats a bit different every year. What annoys me is that in defense I need to control all 5 guys and keep correcting what they do. No matter their D ratings, If shot clock is running out and oposing team is all covered, one of my guys if controled by cpu will intentionally f*ck on defense just so that oposing team gets a free shot. He will literally make a step back or move to side from defender 5 seconds or less on the clock, just so he can score.

Stopped playing it few months back, just don't have patience for this crap.
