So interesting how assists are scored in Europe. Has to lead directly to a bucket but a single FT counts.

Whatever happened to Pat Calathes btw? Is he still playing in Israel? Why can't he make the nat'l team? Did he just fall off the Greek bball map when he couldn't stick in the Panathinaikos rotation?

LoL at Turkey in the end. Why they didn't foul earlier in the end?

Giannis was a difference maker once again. Great overall.
He missed 2 three pointers though. I don't know how many half court tries they count in the stats but the clear threes were only 2.

he's starring alongside Nick Caner-Medley in BC Astana of Kazakhstan. We have a glut of Forwards, he doesn't stand a chance of getting to a 12-man roster unless the whole team is plagued by typhoid. Generally, he was a good volume scorer for mediocre clubs till his stint in Israel, and that's all. Dunno how he does the last couple of years among Ersan's cousins.

Clearly traded the wrong up and coming young star. Typical Kohl move.

That's really how it should be. You don't get more of an assist when it's on a 3 vs a 2 point shot...

But you do get more of an assist on a made ft than a missed ft. They do it differently but it's equally arbitrary as a passing measure.

Oh, okay, well that's not how it should be.

I just think if the pass leads to points, it should be an assist, be it 1, 2, or 3.

Unless something changed the last two years, we don't count assists on FTs.

The last 5 years (i think so 5, maybe 4), from 2010-2011 have change it and if there is a assist pass which lead to foul (with no bucket), one (of course two also count for 1 assist) successful free throw count for 1 assist.
