That was pretty bad. Glad he got it out in the preseason though. He got too comfortable and thought no one on their side would try and make plays.. whoops. He was really good all night up until that point. He seems like the type that will learn from that

I love the faster pace the offense was employing at times

Haha, I tried to "delete it off my hard drive" immediately. Seems like he brain farted between throwing it away and fitting the pass in. should have thrown it in the stands. Hopefully he'll learn from it.

Me too. Kept the defense off balance and started making plays down the field.

D-line looks like a strength, that will help the secondary.

It's official: Menelik out for the year with a torn Achilles.

Not many come back from that. Hope the best for Menelik but there's a good chance hes done for good.. bummer, couldn't have happened at a worse time for him.

What's with the o-line calls? Is that the center calls or the mix and match personnel?

that will affect us in the draft/ free agency next year.

Might necessitate us trading down if we can't bring in another tackle.

DAMN! I was hoping that it was a 4-6 week bone issue. That moves McCants or Bergstrom on to the roster. Or we look around for another tackle.

I'd imagine it keeps McCants on the roster.. Howard moves from swing tackle to RT, Khalif becomes the priority backup at everywhere but C, and McCants becomes depth.

But truthfully it shouldnt be hard to find an upgrade off the waiver wire.. I'd even rather see our 7th round T make it over McCants, who is roster fodder.

True that, Morris showed potential and could be a real mauler. Just needed more seasoning. Was hoping we could get him on the PS but now we could use him.

Wilkins -3.4
Ray Ray -3.1
Hayden -1.6 (-1.0 bc of that penalty)
Valles -1.3

Jelly +2.0
McGee +2.0

Seems pretty accurate to me. Carr got dropped 2 full points for his pick 6, the OL got obliterated in the run game, but Mack was a monster, Autry was fantastic, the DL overall was great. Really impressed with MEJ after a stumble out of the gates. Malcolm Smith looks like a find as well. Our defense looking pretty solid except at DB, where Hayden's penalties are becoming a problem. Just too many stupid mistakes.

That's consistent with how I viewed Carr's play. A lot of our fans are pushing the panic button on Carr's performance. I went back through the game and watched everything. He was ok to me up until the pick 6. I thought he missed on some throws but I'm not alarmed.

Consistent improvement from Mario Edwards

good to see Nate Allen playing well as well.

smfh at Gabe Jackson's grade….but we got bullied in the run game something severe.

Agree with most of the assessment.

The play of the Oline vs the rush needs to take into account the opponent. The Cards front 7 is possibly the best in the league mixing big powerful explosive players in their prime with creative and aggressive scheme and coaching. Not totally passing the buck but it's like saying a tackle played like garbage vs JJ Watt. You have to look at both sides.

That said, we definitely got worse when Watson went down. Okafor was eating Howard's lunch for a series and a half and then he got with it. Watson had trouble with him too tho. Okafor is just a beast on the level with Mack. Last year he was really abusing RTs and was left on a island often. Still came away with 8 sacks. And frighteningly has gotten more explosive.

Hayden had good technique on the jam was solid but he got tied up disengaging due to Brown leaning into him to push off for separation. That is more an incidental contact sort of thing then a reason to find fault with Hayden. To say that the penalties are becoming a problem would imply that you took that penalty as mistake by Hayden and that you were at the Game vs MIN and seen the play vs Charles Johnson and seen the Illegal contact. Hayden, Johnson and Woodson (who was closest to Johnson in the zone coverage they were playing) were out of camera view. Not passing the buck once again, but stating that we don't know what happened.

We can't say it was a bad play by Hayden. Officials CAN make mistakes, in the call overall or the # they call the flag on (25 Hayden or 24 CWood). It could have been a double move by Johnson where he starts out running a Go route and then stutter steps and turns it into a crossing route causing a contact by a player closing on the move. Or it could have be a legit flag on Hayden. My point is we don't know.

That is a very good Arizona defense but our o-line was terrible, guys didn't know who to block.
