Voted 3-point shooting.

I feel that the roster ideally is a proven player short in this regard. Got confidence in Dragic & Bosh behind the arc but after that we might be a bit thin. Wario was present for most of last season as we know and it wasn't pretty. Off-course we produced terrible looks on aggregate but Mario seemed to miss open ones to the point of hesitation. Confidence shaken. Green can shoot but he needs to contribute in other areas from time to time to stay on the court. Deng and McRoberts aren't world beater in this department and might not help with spacing and timely 3's from time to time. The young guys are unproven.

Reasons for optimism: Dragic/Bosh's pick n pop game clicks and produces a ton of good looks for them-self's but also for swing-passes and kick-outs. Mario and Green forgets last year ever happened and goes back to their more productive alter egos. They are both proven 3-ball shooters after all. Deng continues to knock down the short 3 and his most efficient shooting season (TS%) last year was a indicator of an other good one to come. McRobers acclimates well and one of the lesser proven players finds the NBA range. We got a handful of them and that one of these guys finds his stroke doesn't seem to much to ask for.

Don't know what to expect tbh. I wish we would've kept Zoran and Bazz instead of Tj/Rich so that we could have more experienced third strings(Zoran being the only one of them that I think could guard most 2's) but I understand that they have a better view of our roster then we do.

All things considered, this team will be good at something... just not sure what they'll be bad at and how much the negatives weigh

We would definitely need Chalmers*, Winslow and Green to hit their shots tho... that is the space between everything, along with defense. I chuckled at "Statue"...

Shooting might be one of the reasons why I am not completely sold on getting rid of Chalmers yet. I understand Rio had an uncharacteristic bad shooting season last year, but with Dragic, Wade and Bosh back in the mix as primary scorers, it puts Chalmers back in the fold as the off the ball shooter he was when the big 3 roamed the court. Also, McBob can help in that department if paired with Bosh in some lineups.

I think the age might be the issue and that must be why they are looking for future players like Winslow, Richardson etc. The productivity and health of Wade, Bosh and Deng isn't exactly what it was five years ago. I also hope that McRoberts gets the axe, he did nothing to contribute last season IMO :nonono: With this roster I think we have a chance at the top 5 though, given that many things fall into place. Here's a few of those things:

- Whiteside continuing to dominate and not catching on to some big ego with the FA just one year away

- Wade and Bosh needs to stay healthy so that they can be a tight duo (health naturally a big factor for the entire starting five but you get the idea)

- A bench that pans out, we put a lot of faith in guys like Bird, Amare, Winslow, Green and so on. Many are either new with the Heat or having a few shaky years behind them so it's up to us to make them feel welcome in order for them to be successful

I think the biggest concern is the age and health of Wade and Bosh.

Voted 3 point shooting. Last year was grotesque.

Miami just needed more potential 3-and-D players last offseason, and they got them. Miami's problem won't be 3-PT shooting:

Deng
Winslow
Green
Richardson

All have 3-and-D potential and can guard multiple positions. Deng can guard 2-4, Winslow 1-4, Green 2-3 and Richardson 1-2. The current FMVP is a 3-and-D player. All these guys have to do is just hit the open 3, and 2 of these guys (the rookies) can handle the ball when Wade and/or Dragic sits.

There are so many other players on this team to draw attention away from these 3-and-D guys. All they just need to do is hit the open 3. Learn to play team ball like the Warriors and all is well. Bosh needs to stop being a blackhole on offense, and it looks like he has tunnel vision at times. Wade and Dragic will find the open guys. They will do their thing. Whiteside when a willing passer was a good one, but no one (other than Wade) was looking for him so I didn't mind him not passing much last season. Don't let Deng handle the ball. Everything else will be gravy.

I'll call Green a 3-and-D player when I see him actually playing some D.

No one ever thought Beasley would ever grow to be a competant defender, but this Heat culture is REAL. I have little doubt Green will adapt likewise. I can't really blame him. He came from Phoenix.

I voted for 3 point shooting.

Green,McRoberts,Bosh,Dragic, and Chalmers (believe it or not) are the only real knock down 3point shooters.

Deng*,Winslow*,When it comes to being a knock down 3point shooter.

TJ is a great shooter, but TBD if he get's that much playing time.

It would have been nice to snatch Dorell Wright, still hope for Beasley.

But other than that as long as we're healthy will be fine.

True, Beasley really surprised me last year.

If Green can be at least passable on defense and hit his open threes, we probably have 6thMOY candidate here.

*fingers crossed*

Threes/spacing.

Filipino Jackson coached a less talented team to 47 wins.

Wade was the 2nd best player in the NBA back then.

A better comparison would be the team Dragic lead to 48 wins in 2014 to this Heat team. We're much more talented than they were.

Only one flaw standing between us and the chip: No Beasley

I'm still stung over the bazz move and wario's continued barnacle like presence. My biggest issue with the roster is a continued insistence on limiting its potential by creating a crutch for our inadequate coaching staff. But as to more practical flaws it's that we still don't have near enough shooting. There should be pretty of opportunity for open shots and we have players capable of hitting 3's but not in a consistent, -leave me open and I'm draining that 3- kind of way.

How does Chalmers not have his own personal & exclusive spot on a 9 option "Biggest Heat flaw" poll?

I lost count of how many close games his presence cost us in the 4th qtr. Last season Chalmers was number 2 on the team in minutes played, if he's anywhere near that number again Philly gets the last laugh.
