The only real weak spots for Arsenal are the outside backs and central striker from what I've seen. I really like Bellerin though and unless you're getting a Lacazette, I don't think there's much point in transferring in a ST. They should be fine, unless there's a depth concern I'm not aware of.

They sure could've used a quality DM. The trio of Coquelin, Flamini and Arteta doesn't exactly scream world class to me.
Should've put in a bid for Wanyama.

Spurs forums are hilarious right now. The meltdowns are unreal. Some saying we're getting relegated, others saying West Ham have a better team than us now. I'm not happy that we haven't brought in a striker or a DM, but what can we do as fans? Poch must feel that Son and N'Jie can play up top. :dontknow:

That's the only explanation I can think of for not having a backup option to Berahino.

This is certainly true though. They have a better team and much better coach.

They really don't have a better team. West Ham's roster is an absolute cluster ****. I don't know what you're looking at.

I don't know enough about Bilic to verify or deny the other statement, though, but they did well to win at Anfield and the Emirates.

Ballack was just as important and talismanic as Kahn at the tourney, Miro broke onto the scene, as did Lahm, Frings was an excellent partner for Ballack, and the white Brazilian was just a joy to watch play. Certainly not a very strong team, but they had a few really nice supporting pieces around Kahn & Ballack who's contributions have been forgotten to time because of the way Ollie and Michael's brilliance over-shadowed them.

Lahm's first tournament was 04 in Portugal.

Kahn was incredible in WC 2002 and although I do agree that the team had some good players, that team was nowhere near a contender. The level of competition was also pretty low and Kahn helping them getting clean sheets was enough to get to the final. Winning 1:0 against Paraguay, the US and South Korea basically tells the whole story.

I really like West Ham's midfield with Obiang, Payet and Lanzini joining Kouyate. They don't have a Kane or Son up front (though Lanzini has that kind of talent), and their defense is a tirefire, but I like what West Ham have done a lot. Still take y'all over them because you do have Kane and Son, but that midfield of theirs could be no joke if Bilic does a great job or gets upgraded.

Was Hinkel in the side in 2002 then? Cause I was certain that one of the Stuttgart FBs started playing for the NT in campaign.

Kahn played the best tourney a goalie ever has...even better than Schmeichel's EM winning performance...while the competition broke our way; but we still wouldn't have made it to that final without Ballack leading the team in front of Ollie, with Frings, Schneider and Miro providing a solid supporting cast. So even with the greatest goalkeeping performance in living memory, we wouldn't have done what we did if Kahn was hands down our best player (as Ballack was a close 2nd) and so it's not really a good argument against the notion that a team who's best player is their keeper isn't going to do much in a top league.

Tottenham have a good, young roster. Can't expect too much from them this year, though. Anything from 5th to 10th spot is possible. Next year they should be better, though.

So, I guess there's no doubt about which clubs that had the best window in Europe:

Bayern
ManCity

I am not looking at price, only at the players they've bought. I def. think those 2 clubs have bought the best players.
Dirk Nowitzki, Steve Nash, Kevin Garnett, Toni Kroos, Pep Guardiola, Ernst Happel, Joachim Löw.

Ya I'm not so sure about this. They're also quite thin and I don't expect Zarate to play at a high level consistently.

Not the same type of star power but Inter did very well:
Kondogbia
Jovetic
Miranda
Murillo
Montoya
Melo
Telles
Perisic

Inter definitely made a lot of nice moves, hope they all gel quickly together.

Really like the fact that some of these guys are quite young so it's nice and easy to build around for years to come.

Coquelin is many times our best player! I was crying for a new DM before, but i am now pretty happy with him. The only thing we really need, is confidence to shoot the fukin ball! And start the ox

Does Thanti Cathorla start over him? Ox is such a joy to watch and if he just tightens up a couple things I see no reason why he can't become an absolute star.
