Nice job by the new mod team keeping the forum relatively alive despite the current utter-dead state of the basketball world, this thread being one of the many smart recent moves.
And I was gonna say that at some point even if I wouldn't have made the list

I'm not going to be posting here if I don't get poster of the month but I'll be professional about it.

We can trade her to the Spurs board. I'm sure she'd be happy with that.

Re: Posters of the Month
Time for our update for the month...a pretty slow month, but many posters have made great contributions, and not all of them are listed here, but some that stood out, and the mods discussed who should be mentioned, whether they are long term posters or newer posters, are as follows...
batsmasher - some great posts this month....one of my personal favorites this first one here, but many more good ones as well
viewtopic.php?f=27&t=1403816&start=436#start_here
viewtopic.php?f=27&t=1399442&start=1733#start_here
oddity - a solid new poster who has made some great contributions
viewtopic.php?f=27&t=1403816&p=44570369#p44570369
viewtopic.php?f=27&t=1403816&start=520
bigfoot - solid as always
viewtopic.php?f=27&t=1403816&start=511#start_here
Damkac - making some solid points as usual
viewtopic.php?f=27&t=1399442&start=1659#start_here
aewyatt7 - another new poster, starting a thread that has brought much discussion and making good points while not creating controversy, which could be easy in a thread about Markieff
viewtopic.php?f=27&t=1402959#start_here
Frank Lee - always telling it how he sees it...some funny pics along the way
viewtopic.php?f=27&t=1403816&start=439#start_here
NavLDO - thoroughly researching his posts and backing up his points....yes the trades posted today were a bit absurd, but he was on pain meds...so that's understandable
viewtopic.php?f=27&t=1403816&start=328#start_here
Safety Pickle - always making solid posts and continuing to do so
viewtopic.php?f=27&t=1403816&start=664#start_here
and for the most And1'd post, which was spot on, for his very first post
JS22

Re: Posters of the Month
Congrats to everyone on the list! I think there's been many great posts and discussions despite an incredibly slow month with little to no official news from the organisation. I especially love the contribution from posters who signed up these past few months.

Re: Top Posters
This has been updated for the most consistent posters either contributing new content, and new posters who have standed out AND posted throughout the entire (or at least most of) the off season. We will resort to a monthly determination of who has been the best posters each month starting next month.
There were more on the list, but the limit allowed was hit, so tough decisions were made. A shout out to JellyRolling (although I do like SunsReady to Roll better as a name), for creating game threads for posters. And some others I didn't include either because of some great activity, but limited and disappearing for much of the summer, or simply just not posting much.
There is also some discussion among mods to give people some sort of title or nickname at times for fulfilling certain very good or funny roles within the forum, such as stats and analysis guru among many others, so you may see that soon.
Most of the top posters list was determined by me, so if you have issues with it, blame me. I did the best I could. Obviously earlier opinions of other mods were incorporated based on our previous posters of the month or discussions.
But here is to solid well thought out posts and good solid arguments without becoming personal, as well as nice contributions of analysis, posts of columns, and just well thought about posts. JTrain had some great stuff early, as did SkinnyOMiller and others and I will probably edit when I remember others. Gaspar, although busy, also always posts relevant news.
So thanks to all for many solid posts, humorous additions and nice offseason discussion...lets keep it up in the regular season, and hopefully we can be fair with the team, open minded, remember they are in one of the toughest conferences ever, and instead of ONLY complaining or being super positive, instead of ONLY complaining, provide solid solutions of what YOU would do in McD or Horny's shoes.....if you want the coach gone who is a realistic replacement who is likely available.....same with GM.
Again, thanks to everyone for keeping this the best/most active Suns forum on the net.

Re: Top Posters - Special Titles
It has recently been discussed between the mods, across all forums, to possibly institute special titles in forums and/or have monthly awards.
Some ideas thrown around among mods in across all forums (none of these I personally came up with, but I think many are great):
Achievement titles:
MVP - Best poster, someone who consistently posts in a good, balanced and insightful manner.
ROM - New poster who stands out, great way to keep new posters around
MIP - Poster who gets recognized for significant self-improvement
DPOM - Poster who absolutely loves and defends his team no matter what
COTM - Poster who goes out of their way to help out others
Special titles:
These posters could be a visible go-to resource if other posters have specific questions. They could be life-time (or as long as the poster wants the title) and we could tag multiple people (why not have 3 analytic guru's if they are all qualified?).
Examples:
Analytic Guru - Posters who know the numbers and helps keep less-inclined posters in the loop
League Historian - Posters with great knowledge of the history of that team
Capologist - Posters who are most familiar with the current CBA rules and regulations
College/draft fanatic - Posters who follow college sports and can bring that perspective to bear
International aficionado - Posters who also follow international leagues
Job/duty titles:
Examples:
Game thread creator - Posters who likes being part of the game threads and is willing to help ensure we always have one.
Media scavenger - Posters who keep their ear to the ground and can share links/analysis of articles and other media.
Examples:
Challenge winner titles - If people win something, it would be a great way to recognize
Predictive trader - Poster who proposed a trade that ended up actually happening
'Just for fun" titles
These could be some silly titles, or ideas that don't fall into other categories, simply for entertainment. It would be VERY important to ensure the posters also find these titles funny, rather than insulting, as taken the wrong way this could achieve the opposite result of driving posters away from the forum.
Examples:
Volume shooter - Posts a ton
Curmudgeon - We all know those posters, some of them have the good humor to embrace it.
Australian Ambassador

Re: Top Posters - Special Titles
Nice project. I think I might have a shot at "Media scavenger" title
And then there is JellyRolling for "Game thread creator".

Well, we have already voted and you are Rookie of the Month! Congrats!

If you want to volunteer to help out, we may do a competition at some point if people are interested. Check out my post from a while back in the community thread, where we each make predictions. We also had a draft lottery contest last year, so you could help out in grading things like that if you wanted.
