Suns Offseason Thread V: I Am My Brother's Kieffer

Well training camp is just is a few weeks out. A good question is "are we better team than last year?"

At the beginning of last year we had

Bledsoe / IT
Dragic / Green
Marcus / Tucker
Kief / Tolliver
Plumlee / Len

Now we have

Bledsoe / Price
Knight / Weems or Goodwin or Booker
Tucker / Warren
Kief / Teletovic or Leuer
Chandler / Len

So the question is are we better or worse? The positives are

1) Knight will have had voluntary workouts and a training camp with his team mates.
2) Bledsoe has spent the summer working with his team mates unlike last year
3) No unhappy Dragic and IT
4) Tolliver and Plumlee never really brought much to the team last year
5) Chandler will bring leadership
6) Team defense should be much, much better without IT and Green
7) Team rebounding should be better
8) Any of Len, Warren, Goodwin, and Booker could make significant contributions / improvements
9) Half the stupid technical fouls are now in Detroit
10) Should have much better team chemistry

The negatives

1) Don't know if Kief is going to be a problem
2) Not sure if our bench has a scoring punch without Green and IT

On paper it looks much, much better to me.

Actually I think you are thinking of Perry Jones III when he came out.

Well he always posts those pics of T-Will, but I'm pretty sure he was high on PJ3 as well.

Better. Bledsoe should be improved. Knight will be better than Dragic (was last year because he wasn't really ever much of the focal point running the offense..and Knight is probably better off ball and shooting). Weems will be better and more consistent than Green, particularly on defense. Booker should get better as the season progresses and maybe he can give us something and knock down some shots. There shouldn't be any whining about playing time or wanting to start due to having too many pgs.

Marcus being gone is a HUGE plus. Warren will be much improved after having an offseason knowing the hard work it takes. Weems may play some at the 3 as well, and is likely much more of a pro than Marcus.

As of right now we still have Markieff, but we have far better backups than Tolliver.

Chandler/Len is MUCH MUCH better than Plumlee/Len

Team chemistry and professionalism is the major plus though, and Markieff will come knowing he needs to be a pro for other teams to want him.

Definitely makes sense, since he played for them. But people just HAVE to speculate.

Depends what we get back in return. If it's a T Jones, I think we should be OK but if we don't replace him with a PF with some talent, I think it's gonna be a looooooong season :nonono:

Wow Keef continues to show himself to be an ungrateful clock sucker. Suns did nothing wrong to either twin. Yes they traded Marcus, and yes the twins (especially Markieff) took a discount to play together. However the Suns were patient as they both seemed to implode this past season. Excessive technical fouls, screaming at the coach, felony assault charges and everything else finally forced the Suns to pull the plug. Unfortunately adhering to the #FOE mentality forces Keef to make a stupid decision about his future in the league.

F*** both of them.
