Wow... Up by 20, playing great and the whiners still looking for something to cry about. Doornekamp and Wiltjer couldn't be more different types of players.

Whiner? Jeez... can I not just express a pretty valid opinion? I've defended & said plenty of positive things.
And I guess by different you mean... WIltjer is actually a great NCAA player & was a HS All-American while Doornekamp played in the CIS.. Besides that you have SF's that like to shoot 3's but aren't very athletic.

except for you know play defence.

Doornekamp plays defence better than Wiltjer?
And how important is that defence?... This is the FIBA Americas. I doubt there's ever gonna be a situation where they're like "boy.. if only we had Doornekamp instead of Wiltjer for the defence".. when they can just put Wiggins or Ejim on instead.

Sorry I know it's not my argument but I kind of agree that Doornekamp probably plays better defense than Wiltjer. I don't know if you watched any Pan AMs or college ball last year (you probably did) but it's pretty clear that Wiltjer is a 4. Wiltjer has a really hard time covering the 4 (one of the reasons he likely won't get drafted) and he would get absolutely killed at the 3 which is what the staff sees Doornekamp as.

To be honest I'd be surprised if he made the Olympic / World Cup team over the next couple years as we're LOADED with bigs and he's clearly not a wing.

Oh, this game is only about seeding.
"I definitely knew he traveled, but I didn't know they were going to call it. That was one of them situations in which a great player made a move...and they called the call. And I was like, 'Oh, man, there is a God.'

Isn't Wiltjer in the same situation as Murray, has to report for school? and it's not like he would play much anyways like in the Pan Ams, Wiltjer has a place on this team in the future so it doesn't really matter that Doornekamp is on the team who is not even the same type of player and Doornekamp is borderline dirty, he fits right in international play

whats all this Wiltjer talk?
I like him a lot... but the dude wont play in any meaningful tournaments for Canada ever. He's a poor mans KO except his 3 point shot is better. He's too stiff, and wont be a successful 3.
Canada is too stacked at the 4/5 position.

;) hahaha I'm just busting your balls man.. but see what I mean?
I'm watching with my Dad who's like 60 & he thought Doornekamp is the one that's Triano's nephew instead of Heslip since he unreasonably plays more than he should lol

Kyle Wiltjer isn't even a 5 & is barely a 4. He's a 3/4 tweener... poor man's KO? Did you even see them play together at Gonzaga? I never saw KO score 39 in an NCAA game like Wilter. He's a little stiff but not anymore so than Doornekamp at this point.

You make some valid points but I think the flaws you're pointing out really apply a lot more to WIltjer's NBA translation moreso than FIBA translation.
Gonzaga found a way for WIltjer to a great college player & NCAA is a bit more similar to FIBA basketball than NBA basketball to me.
Wiltjer's defensive problems covering the 3's & 4's aren't as glaring unless Canada is playing talented teams like USA, France or Spain.

This team has no defence tho! Like, how you gonna let Puerto Rico drop 90 on you in 40 minutes?

Dude just looked really ugly out there today especially on the defensive end. I can recall two plays where he just looked slow footed and dejected from the game.

Does anyone know how he played Tuto? Is he tired? He did play quite a bit of ball at the Pan Ams...
