Re: Waiver Wire Watch
Darnell Dockett released today.
Has a $2 million guarantee from SF so he's paid either way.
I'd take him on a cheap deal.

I don't think he had any guarantees... Raiders D-line looks pretty set though, doesn't it?

What if we were offered a solid #3 CB? or a 5th rd pick? Naw 5th wouldn't do it but the corner we'd have to think about it.

Re: Waiver Wire Watch
Any CB we got for him we would probably regret it in a couple years.
I was reminded about Sio, he was the guy celebrating in the backfield last season while the offense was about to snap the ball... he's kind of a loose cannon.

Surprise: we're carrying 6 WR, none of whom return kicks.

What does this mean for Valles?
practice squad or he's done as a Raider?

When you roster only 3 safeties, yes

I imagine he, Dyer, and Shelby are practice squad priorities. Fajardo, Bell, and Shirley seem like other quality candidates

I do trust JDR and the rest of the coaching staff, but yeah I was shocked that Mays and Valles were cut.
ehhhhh f it.

Re: Waiver Wire Watch
Ive seen a few beats insisting that the Raiders roster situation is fluid: 2 FBs, 4 TEs, 6 WR, 7 DL, 3 S, 2 QBs. And technically 2 RBs, unless Reece is designed to become bellcow if Murray gets hurt. Which is fine w me, I prefer him as a H-Back type
I'd imagine one of my UDFA favs CB Edwards is still on thin ice here, but for now really like that he made the team

judging by the earlier comment and apparently a commitment to run the offense without a traditional FB, and this talk of running a lot of 2 TE sets and keeping 6 WRs which none of them are returners, is this an indication that at least apart of our offense may resemble the old Oilers' run and shoot offense? if that is the case, we are gonna be a "fun to watch" team at the least.
ehhhhh f it.

Re: Waiver Wire Watch
There are a couple former JDR secondary players available.
Taylor Mays Sucks. He got dumped by SF and didn't he just get cut by Cincinnati? Raiders didn't cut anyone for him, they had a roster spot and there was some history there.
Definitely will be looking for some secondary help on the waiver wire.

Re: Waiver Wire Watch
From Inside Bay Area blog:
"The Raiders did a little scouting during their exhibition finale and on Sunday picked up Seattle Seahawks safety Keenan Lambert.
Lambert, who played 31 snaps and had seven tackles (five on defense, two on special teams) against the Raiders on Thursday, was an undrafted free agent out of Norfolk State that the Seahawks signed in May. He’s the half-brother of Kam Chancellor, Seattle’s stud safety who remain in a contract-related holdout."

Re: Waiver Wire Watch
Like the signing of Lambert, I see him a plus in special teams and believe he'll pass Asante on the depth chart soon. Just a bigger better prospect. Hope we can grab a RB and OL as well. I would like to replace Ray Ray but guys of that caliber are on 53's. Maybe after scouting we can find someone to move Ball to the PS.

Re: Waiver Wire Watch
DT Orr, OLB/DE Valles, CB Tevin McDonald and QB Garrett Gilbert from the Rams all signed to the practice squad.
Happy we got Valles and Orr back. Was worried the most about them.

Re: Waiver Wire Watch
David Bass Chi was waived by the Bears. He was a 7th rd pick DE for us in 2013 that we tried to put on the PS but the Bears stole. Jacoby Ford was waived by the Titans. He may be done in the NFL. Vincent Brown was cut by the Colts. Thought he would catch on somewhere.
