Spanoulous looked great in the 4th quarter, what a comeback.. Giannis looked terrible today. He need to get involved on offense more.

Maybe it's just the pressure of the tourney and scarcity of looks but he was hesitant with both jumpers.

he was hesitant today, he didnt look hesitant in the friendlies... He wants to drive to the basket so bad but he has to learn that he needs the jumper to set up the drive.

I still like Giannis on defensive ends tho, i loved his movements and he played on PRN and passed the ball.
Giannis kept Hezoja to 0 points while he was on him but yeha he needs to stop hesitating shooting.

I've seen some really bad calls/non-calls in this tournament (on every side) and it's only the second day.

He has to learn not to hesitate, or if he hesitates to pass the ball.

Giannis is starting as SF!

Couple of supermodel level greek girls on the stands as it's usual in the eurobaskets.

Pics or it didn't happen.

This is the one thing that has always, and will continue to worry me about Giannis. He's a passive offensive player too often.

Couldn't find the specific girls from yesterday's game but here is an example from a previous Eurobasket. This girl became a greek and later global supermodel just because of the photos from the eurobasket. She was just a barwoman before that..

Google "Nadia Serlidou"or "Νάντια Σερλίδου" for more "interesting" photos.

What bothers me the most is that it's only some of the time. He'll have plenty of games or at least big stretches in games where he's going full throttle, 100% aggressiveness, so we know he's capable of imposing his will on the game. I hate Harden but this reminds me of Harden in the playoffs, where one game he'll look like the nastiest scorer in the game, then the next game he'll look like he wants no part of anything going on. For Giannis it's probably just a coaching thing and him just being less comfortable in the NT setting but it is a bit concerning that this happens so often when he goes against good defenses and/or he isn't actively being involved by the coach/teammates.

This is one of the biggest reasons why I'm so excited to have Jabari. He is the perfect remedy for something like this.

Giannis will get his chance. He's the youngest on the NT and needs to bide his time. Their coach may figure out or not that if they give him the ball in the post, he'll make good things happen. The coach does seem content to let the guards jack up late shot clock 3s though.

Giannis is humble despite being an NBA star with great potential. The second youngest on the squad is 4 years his senior. I think that is the reason for his "shy-ness" offensively and that he only played a few times with the rest, when all the other have played many tournaments before.
As a Bucks player, it will be his 3rd year on the team, lots of changes bumped his "seniority" as well in the team and the ages of the starters are closer to his. I think he will be much more offensive this year when playing for the Bucks. And he better be, he has the ability and it will help him a lot to improve.

I hate all of this "the guy with the biggest bald spot gets to shoot the most" thing that Euro teams always have going on. It's like every team in Europe read a coaching book written by George Karl.

In fairness, a lot of Grecians have more hair on their backs than their heads by the time they're 20. They need a different Grecian Formula.

True, experience on a good Euro team is a factor but man he's got to stop with the pump faking at the 3 point line.. Reminding me of ersan

Holy Crap! She goes from barwoman to SuperModel because she showed up to a Bball game?!??

And now every hot greek girl tries to do the same!?!? I think I need to make a trip to a Greece Bball game. :droop:

Giannis does not understand fundamentals because he is too wrapped up in American style of basketball. He refuse to think the game, only prefer isolation & "mix tape" offense. If only he study more of Vassilis Spanoulis there might be hope for him.

Coach Katsikaris is the one who can't read the game... Giannis is a full time worldwide mismatch in the iso-post as a SF cause of his lenght and speed .... Coach Kidd uses Giannis extremely well with iso plays in the post and on top of the key to use his speed+length...
Katsikaris uses Giannis as a typical rotation player... Katsikaris plays the NT with only one set play ... pick n roll PG/C ... Spanoulis/Koufos ... that is not gonna help Greece to win a championship... Good defensive teams will read it and stop it ...
So it is crucial to use Giannis like he plays in NBA with isos !!!

Feel like you could have shoehorned an "ignorant NBA fans" in there otherwise top notch. :D

Greetings from another greek fan. That’s my 1st post here but I’ve following your forum for some time and I’ve watched most of the bucks games since December.
A couple of stats about the Greece NT that you should know that can explain GA’s performance/usage etc.
The 12 men roster of the current GNT has 10 players that have won at least 1 euroleague championship, which is the equivalent of an NBA ring for Europe. They have turned around so many games their entire career that they don’t feel so much pressure; but that’s not the problem.
The bigger problem is that the current GNT system has the SF out of every offensive plan; they are on the court to make the extra pass instead of following their instincts to shoot/drive/post and they(GA,Kpap,Perp) go with it b/c they are too much unselfish/coach/team players.
PS I can’t understand how a team that has a rebound problem, doesn’t play GA as a PF(bucks/GNT)….
