Excuses, he onus is on you, putting up big numbers in a lesser league and non meaningful games is fine.

Any decent D1 player would do that in the CIS, that's the point

Well, at least I got "decent player". I'll take that as a win. There is also starting to be actual proof that Scrubb can play as per meaningful international games indicating that he can play. Now we're just arguing over whether historically he fits with the accepted truths of the talent base within Canada.

But the point is that Carleton have beaten D1 teams and consistently played them well. Based on their record within CIS for the last... forever, it's pretty clear that the Ravens program is a cut above the standard fare in CIS teams. Is there a chance we can start thinking that Canadian programs can start to produce high level talent?

Fer instance, Kelly Olynyk didn't play in the States as a high school player, he stayed in BC right up to grade 12, and played against US guys on Provincial teams. So he is a national product(Canadian coaches during key developmental high school years) that went on to NCAA all american status at Gonzaga.

Scrub was a Big Fish in a small pond with even smaller fish, I like him and wish him well. But my point stands that the CIS talent on a 20 game schedule is not the same as Hanlan playing a almost 40 game D1 schedule.

I would love to have the Ravens play D1 with only CDN talent

These FIBA announcers on ESPN3 are killing me  You can tell English is their second (or third) language. Very funny and likable. I'm sorry that you have to put up with Leo and Rod.

Agreed, FIBA crews are great. They're affable, unbiased, and absolutely lose their minds for anything that even remotely resembles a highlight play.

Even when the game is long over lol, you can just tell they enjoy the game. They add enough basketball-detail on the plays as well.

Man, that dunk. :o

Good to see Stauskas beginning to find his game again. It makes this team so much more dangerous, and hopefully sets him up for a good run with Philly this year.

Think Canada is still the favorite and they can beat Mexico. Mexico lives too much on the perimeter, and Ayon isn't Scola.

It's a shame that Heslip is probably too small to play in the NBA, because his shot is automatic.

I think Canada will have a big advantage given all these games Mexico has played down to the wire. Whereas today, Canada was able to rest their starters and give big minutes to the bench guys.
