Packers Vs. Bears Lead up

John Fox on #Packers coach Mike McCarthy saying Green Bay will kick Chicago's ass. "I looked at the tape. They should be confident."

I squandered an asset? Then Hammond taught me well.

I never take a division opponent lightly, especially on the road, but no way we should lose this game.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

Wait, McCarthy said they were going to kick Chicago's ass? I really haven't been paying attention to the preseason.

There's a "welcome back" luncheon every year before the first game. That's where he said it.

I'd rather hear that than "I hope we don't choke against the Bears like we did against Seattle".

LOL I find it amazing that McCarthy said that. So pumped that meaningful football games are back. Prediction: 31-17 Packers victory

Picked up the Pack D in fantasy just for this week. Don't let me down Jay.

Same here! I am in 3 leagues and in each of them I am starting Pack D. Let's hope the defense remains Jay's favorite receiver.

Hopefully we win the toss and get a first drive score. Shut the FIBS up. And I want to see TDs in the red zone not FGs

"Same old Jay" - Charles Woodson

Though, Matt Forte should have a huge day. We also are kind of due to lose at Soldier Field. Hasn't happened since 2010.

I'm picking the Packers to start even slower than usual this season-- 3-3, or very possibly even 2-4-- but there's no way this is one of those losses.

King:
Next Sunday, the Packers and Bears will play in Soldier Field. It will be the 189th meeting in the rivalry that began in 1921. No two pro football teams have played each other more.

The average score in the 188 meetings: Chicago 17.06, Green Bay 17.02.

The composite score in those 188 games: Chicago 3,207, Green Bay 3,200.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

We're such overwhelming favorites that the pessimist in me is worried about a letdown. But I just don't think Rodgers will let us lose to the Bears, Jordy or no Jordy. Only matchup that worries me is Forte against our suspect ILB's and interior line. With Jeffrey still hurt, our secondary should have a field day against Jay.

Holy crap. That's an unbelievably slow start. All our tough games are at home the first 6 weeks. 4-2 at WORST through 6.

This is definitely a game to give the points on. GB wins going away 37-16 that's only that close cause of a Chicago garbage time TD

Do you honestly think that a bunch of players on the Packers might not take the Bears seriously in the opening game of the season just because Vegas has them as 7 point favorites, which by the way isn't an overwhelming favorite?

Or do you mean something else by saying what you did?

I think overwhelming favorite not by point spread but by overall being picked to win AND the packers have whipped the bears so frequently in Lambeau south it feels like a given.

McGinn's scouting report on Chicago

http://www.jsonline.com/sports/packers/packers-next-opponent-bears-b99572540z1-325847271.html

Three years of nonstop roster shuffling have left Chicago with a 53-man roster that includes merely 14 players who played for them before 2014. In stark contrast, the Packers have 33 in the same category.

An executive in personnel for an NFC team thought the Bears looked almost like an expansion team.

"They've changed so much personnel-wise," the scout said, predicting the score for the opener 31-10 in favor of Green Bay. "They are desperate."

"They're in transition," an AFC personnel man said. "They really don't have the people. (Coach) John Fox will want to run the football, lot of play-action, three-step passing game.

"I think it will be closer than people think. Green Bay's lost Jordy Nelson. I think the Bears will surprise you offensively."

He predicted a 23-17 victory for Green Bay.

"It would be a shocker if the Bears win," said an NFC assistant coach who had Green Bay winning, 24-10. "Just because of the offense. (Matt) Forte will be their best weapon. They will run the ball. They don't have a choice."

What's also cool is that if GB sweeps the Bears this year, they tie Chicago at 92 wins ( with 6 ties ). Given that at the end of the 70's the Packers trailed the Bears by 35 wins, I never thought I'd see the day. Yeah!

The Bears always seemed to fail to utilize Forte to the degree they should have. Too much was invested in Cutler and too many OCs would have rather thrown the ball rather than ground and pound.

I doubt Fox and the new GM give a **** about how much was invested in Cutler though.
