I would understand someone in my position picking C***, H*****, and maybe D***** (been hurt a lot) ahead of LeBron. How is he barely top 8-10? He's certainly still top 5. Once Kyrie and/or Love go down with yet another injury, LeBron will be producing at a very high level. Even with both of them in, he still did excellent last season.

No it's not listed as a rule but it was a rule in the first ever draft of this league and was always enforced since then. Just so happens that it's so accepted we don't list it in the rules.
