The 49ers were just on the verge of winning it all the last couple of years and now, it's all become unraveled. Not just because of Harbaugh's departure but this whole "winning with class" malarkey.
While 49ers shed starters, including all pro players, the Seahawks are drafting guys with off field issues like Clark who may turn into very good players.
The winning with class thing was York's foot in mouth. Looking at the Seahawks, we are in a different place. We had an older team that had a nice run that unfortunately couldn't get the super bowl, While a couple of retirements were a surprise, this team had a number of old vets and was over the salary cap. The roster turnover was coming soon, maybe not just all at once. Seattle had a couple of great drafts and have built a nice young team. This year they entered salary cap hell like we were in. You are going to see them start to lose players to FA. They will have their run and unless Schneider hits on all the drafts, they will be where we are in a few years.
