ESPN Projection for Pistons: 35-47, #11 in East

we still have a lot of questions based on potential, which is why we haven't gotten much love at this point.

personally i'm confident we'll finish with around 45 wins but a lot of 'projections' i've seen seem to be closely related to the standings at the end of last year, with miami probably being the biggest change.

to an outside observer, as it stands we have:
- no star players
- no players with reputations as being very good offensive or defensive players
- an inexperienced team

i'm excited to see if any of our guys can fill some of those roles this season.

1. Cleveland
2. Miami (too much talent, youth/vet mix)
3. Chicago (too much talent, good offensive coach and 2 great defensive players Butler & Noah if healthy)
4. Wizards (Porter came up in the playoffs, but we still might beat them for #4)
5. Pistons
6. Hawks
7. Toronto
8. Milwaukee (they will be much worse than people think to start the season but J Kidd will figure something out. he always does).
9. Pacers (could end up at 8 and keep Milwaukee out)
10. Hornets

It's all a mess. I think you could make a reasonable argument the Pistons will miss the playoffs - that has been the pattern - and that they can snag a five seed. To me, the only player with the talent to truly improve the Pistons is Dre. You can see that potential in Stanley, but you have to expect a year for him to truly figure this league out.

I disagree.. Van Gundy works wonders with point guards.. Anyone that truly watches all (or a majority) of their games can see it. Reggie Jackson has a bigger chance of being a star than anyone in 15-16 on the Pistons.
