Basketball is really climbing up the charts here in England...

I hear that basketball has now overtaken Log throwing and knitting on the list...

Go Team GB! !

I thought FC Barcelona was big in Spain, and that Juan Carlos Navvaro was a fan favorite.

I would say this is pretty accurate for the top 4, but Union is above Basketball in crowd attendance in most states. Basketball would be higher up in participation rates. And Netball is up the top for participation as well.
The biggest issue basketball has in Australia is that the National League has been run terribly over the last 10-15 years and there is very little media coverage. Our 3rd largest city does not even have a team in the competition.
Sometimes a player's greatest challenge is coming to grips with his role on the team

1,1 - 1,5m people watched the Eurobasket-Games in Germany, while 2,5m watched Bayern Munich took on 3rd league powerhouse Dynamo Dresden in a charity match. Well, that basically sums it up for Germany. :banghead:

pretty much this for Victoria

though in NSW and QLD, would swap Rugby League and AFL around (though soccer is arguably more popular than even the AFL there)

it really depends on which state

like for QLD its League, Cricket, Union, AFL, Soccer, Basketball, Tennis

though now that the bullets are back for 2016/17 (finally), maybe basketball leapfrogs a couple of these, especially with the roar and lions being basket cases

as far as NSW, i would imagine something like it being League, Soccer, Cricket, AFL, Union, Basketball, Tennis

with 2-5 being pretty close

The receivement of the u16 kids that won the european championship was crazy indeed.
If you want to try to measure the elements of basketball that are supposedly unmeasurable, spend a game just watching Marc Gasol.

I'm from Turkey but I live in New York. People all around the world think that basketball is the first sport in the USA but IT IS NOT! Unfortunately I used to think like that but I was disappointed when I came here. so the placement is,
1-) American Football
2-) Baseball
3-) Ice Hockey
4-) Basketball

Yes Unfortunately Ice Hockey is more popular than basketball in New York. Take a look at New York Ranger's games or New York Islander's games and after that take a look at a Knicks game. You will see the difference buddy. It is sad.
