Did the guards who didn't recognize Barea and Cardinal get fired? I don't think so.
trivialize someone's job

He just reported an actual happening that happened to him personally, it's objective.

the best thing about me opening up this thread to read this was finding out about your username. Cool choice.

Why you find it so cool, may I ask?

Texas. I moved my businesses here once I heard Lin moved to Houston.

Are you serious???!!!

It doesn't sound very believable......
MorbidHEAT wrote:My dislike for Lin started during Linsanity. It was absurd. It's probably irrational dislike at this point, but man he gets on my nerves. He's been tearing us up though.
Thanks for the honesty.

Roy Tarpley was a troubled, yet a very talented big man in the late 80s. He died this year. I like the nickname as a tribute to him.

not sure you can PM until you have a certain # of posts. you don't need to give me specifics - I'm not looking for your complete address. just wanted to know where you lived ie: North Carolina, Taiwan, Australia etc... what is the big mystery? If you are who you say you are, they there is nothing to hide. I currently live in Stallings, NC - see how easy that is.

Just spent too much time checking out Stallings, NC at Google Maps. I'm a complete addict of that site.

Probably scared about five of the newer members of ever mentioning the place where they live though.

Way OT:
LOL, there is nothing interesting to see in Stallings, just a little country suburb of Charlotte.

Here are my 3 favorite places to eat in Stallings

http://www.rockstorebarbq.com/ - great NC style BBQ, super fast, cool building, usually get the BBQ sandwich, with red slaw and baked beans.
http://www.nypepizza.com/ - this little place has the best pizza, good NY style pizza. My go to pizza is pepperoni, onions and banana peppers.
http://www.athenspizzanc.com/ - I don't go here for pizza (see above), but they have some really good Greek and Mediterranean food. I always get the Chicken Kebab over Greek Salad.

Stallings also has one of the biggest Asian grocery markets in the Charlotte area. And that's just about it for Stallings.

I always forget how close I am to Stallings. That BBQ place is like 4 miles from my house. might go there sometime.

I'd read a Lamar Offseason blog series on his Google Maps "travels" and what he feels about certain places and what he thinks are the good and **** spots of that place.

Once, on a hangover Saturday during which you feel like your mind is incapable of anything worthwhile, I actually thought about making screen shots of different countries through Street View and pasting in pictures of me with the use of Paint for a Facebook album. Really went on a trip through the countryside of Romania that time.

But, damn, that was a lazy and pathetic day.. We just kept drinking beers and didn't particularly do anything. Just roaming with Street View and watching tv.

JuanCesta wrote:Firstly I'm not going to call this discrimination or the "r" word until there is complete evidence although there are signs to it. Lin is a global star whose popularity is only 2nd in the NBA to maybe Lebron James, so it is ridiculous that this guard doesn't know who Lin is.

OK now assuming that for some weird and unexplainable reason that this security guard doesn't know who Lin is, my question is does she ID every other Hornets player that she has not seen before? Does she ID Spencer Hawes? Or Nic Batum? The responses to those questions will give us further insight into whether this was an agenda based event or just normal practice.

And for the record, I think Lin was absolutely right to bring this to the attention of the public through twitter. His fans and the NBA world need to know the hardships and struggles he faces on a daily basis. You can't just sweep these what you may call little incidents under the carpet. Say Lin didn't inform us of this, we Lin fans would think everything is rosy and perfect but the truth is Lin has faced some sort of backclash everywhere he goes and this is no different.

Hope for everyone's case that this is just normal practice by the guard and not selective bias. I am giving the guard as pass because as the saying goes innocent until proven guilty

Haha, let's not get too over dramatic over the security guard not recognizing Lin. There are still old asian people who still doesn't recognize Lin's face. Many old asians just not big sports fans. Let's hope Lin starts Linsanity II, then everyone in Charlotte will recognize him.

TikiJJ wrote:The security guard didn't know who Lin was, she probably should have since it's her job to know those things, but she didn't and it's not the end of the world. Let's not pretend that we don't make mistakes at work.

Then Lin tweeted about it because the same thing had happened to him in NY and he probably found it amusing. Not a big deal, because real life isn't anything like daytime soaps and the management wouldn't fire the security guard for such a minor mistake for an issue made public by their own player, unless they want a PR nightmare and turn Lin into the most hated Hornet ever, even before playing a single minute in their uniform.

Do people really think this incident is discussion worthy?

We need to talk about this serious issue for at least another two weeks until training camp opens. #HellaBoredInTheOffseason

gotta be more there than Corrigin.

Here is my 1 favourite place to eat:

http://www.corriginhotel.net/

cause it is literally the only decent meal in town. The chef does do some mean curries though.

Otherwise unless you like looking at wheat/canola farms or visiting the only dog cemetary I've ever seen, there is nothing.

Technically Matthews, but near Stallings, http://www.picadelis.com/ Great food and beer.

And speaking of the Asian market, it was fun going there while my kids were learning Mandarin. I really should go more often. It's so close by.
My picks:
2020 Draft (3rd pick) - Tyrese Haliburton, Devin Vassell, or Onyeka Okongwu
2021 Draft (11th pick) - Moses Moody
