If Allen is done then I can see the call up of Tevin McDonald or more likely the signing of Usama Young. I was hoping we'd never have to see him again.

I might actually use the opportunity to formally give up on Hayden as a CB and push him to FS.. with his quickness, he would do well if he saw the play in front of him more instead of having to track the ball in mid-air. He'd fit well next to Asante, who's essentially a SS/LB.

And while I'm dreaming about putting players in their prototypical positons, move Ray Ray to SS.. the guy is a freaking idiot if you need him to even for a second consider covering the middle.

Ponder now informed Raiders will not sign him unless Carr suffers setback... thankfully he'll be ready for game 2. 2nd rough matchup in a row even though its at home. Carr doesnt seem like the quicksand type so hopefully there's a bounceback game in him. If not, there's always Cleveland.

Anyways, on the radio Papa was pointing out something I missed: Cooper got beat up by Cinci DBs, and apparently had that same issue in college. Either he needs to show a meaner streak, or we have to do more to keep him away from press coverage.

That'd be a waste and you know it.. we've got much more to worry about than a solely in-the-box safety.

Ray Ray Armstrong, for example, was the worst graded Raider on the field, and its hard to disagree. He has no instincts whatsoever

BTW, will post PFF grades in next day or 2. I got a new laptop so my auto password from Cal-Berk is gone, and I won't be there until Wednesday.. I got an email that they revamped their grading system though, FWIW. Not sure how yet.

Man…I hope you're right on quicksand.

Carr's last 2 games are probably the worst he's ever looked to me….granted, I can't exactly remember everything about the St. Louis game last year and some other games where we were terrible. He just seems to be missing bad. I never thought he was Philip Rivers accurate. But man….be in the freakin neighborhood.

report i heard was that the Raiders feared he had a torn ACL.
I should shave typed all of that out. But that's why FNQ responded, "looking like it."

I dunno if anything is official yet. But apparently that was what Jack said in a press conference today. That he is holding out hope that he can return.
Said Carr showed him he can grip a football in his office today.

i'll be more thorough with my posts from here on out.
apologies.

I'm just surprised anyone would be expected to come back this season if they have a torn ACL... maybe a strain or some other knee issue, but torn ACL - that used to be a career ender.

No word on DJ's ankle I guess? Either that or just no one bothered asking about him, all of the other injuries (Carr, Allen, Jelly, C-Wood) were at least mentioned.

Yep. Yikes, dislocated shoulder is not good for a defensive secondary player. A severe version is what knocked Kevin Love out. Even a "minor" version will tend to pop back out.

Obviously a torn ACL hasn't been confirmed yet. Otherwise Allen would have been IR'd.. the fear is that he tore it. But it could as easily have been a PCL injury. Either way, thanks again Ray Ray

Hayden's ankle is a likely sprain, it was iced and wrapped.. considering who he is and what the injury is, I'd say he's doubtful
