Hahaha, that's funny. Well, that partially explains why he hasn't gotten on yet. You'd still think he'd check the boards each day, and I sent him a PM on here.

first round or two are always the worst. So much excitement to make your early picks and it always drags on. Usually picks up after that though

i'm starting to think that if you don't check your emails for over 24 hours you should be skipped... he may be on holidays or something though.

I'm inclined to agree. I say we give him a little longer, but at some point we need to start moving - training camps open in less than two weeks, and we still have 14 1/2 rounds to go. It'd be better to have the draft out of the way before camps open and news/info starts leaking out about players/rotations/injuries etc. which impact the picks.

I think we are drafting pretty early so Id like to wait for everyone to realize the draft has started before skipping. Might help if the draft thread got a sticky from one of the mods. We have usually done this in the past.

the draft started 5 days ago, though. that's plenty of time for people to have checked the board (since Skin has confirmed with everyone beforehand, anyway), and now it's been 48 hours since TNMF has been sent emails from multiple sources. it's really not a challenge to check in once a day, let alone once in 5 days, and if you can't be that attentive then you shouldn't sign up for a league that's got a well established model of how it runs.

what if we push TNMF all the way to the end of the draft (14th), so he takes the last pick of Rd 1 and first pick of Rd 2, that should give him some more time to discover that this thing is going, and gives him a bit of a leg up by giving him an earlier pick in the 2nd round so he's not completely stung by being skipped in Rd 1. and if he hasn't checked in by then, we can look to promote another B-Leaguer.

i think that's pretty fair.

I like the idea that we don't have a timer in the first round.... But at some point we do have to move on. Considering people have used various avenues in an attempt to reach out and he still hasn't respond, my vote is to move forward.

At this point I just hope all is OK with him.

I agree. No limit on the first round. But we eventually have to keep it moving.

I'm for moving on, now, too - it's been almost 48hrs. And think of it this way, if MM123, Ben, Sweet J and dsg are quick with their selections, we'll be back to TNMF soon enough.

Id suggest waiting until this Monday 5 PM EST, then replace him with next highest B Leaguer so the replacement doesn't have to pick ~18th and ~19th or whatever that is, instead of 8th and ~18th. But I don't care enough, Im fine with whatever too lol

Im fine with whatever is decided by the commish. Bensational's idea of moving TNMF to the end of the draft order so that he picks 14th/15th picks and then replace with another poster if still no go. Seems fair. But only if all the people between the current pick and the 14th pick agree, since they will be the ones affected.

Yeah, I definitely think we need to do something to move on. Whether it's replace him or move him to the end, I don't care.

I'd say just skip him for now - we have 3 other GMs who all have to make two picks each before we get back to TNMF. If they all get their selections out of the way and we come back to TNMF and he's still not around, then look into the possibility of replacing him. In the meantime if he happens to log in he can make his 1st round pick at any time.
